  1. And now Varadker will be bribed or bullied into dropping his objections to the Irish border issues so that the big countries can continue to sell their exports to the UK. If he's smart he'll come out of this with loads of investments and subsidies. If he's not smart Ireland will be held hostage to the big five and he won't come out of it very well.
  2. Basically Boris has asked Lizzie to suspend Parliament for a few weeks because he is so busy planning new government policies, and Lizzie has agreed to do just that. Of course the Remoaners are claiming that the closure will now make it impossible for them to block Brexit.
  3. The EU will certainly be worried now. They can't rely on the backstabbing twunts to undermine the democratic result of the referendum. The chances of the UK leaving without a suitable deal are receding by the hour. Verhoftwat is still making out that the UK will not get a trade deal unless they bend over and take it backwards, but at the end of the day, it is not his job that is at stake. Hundreds of thousands of Germans, French, Italians, Spanish and Dutch jobs are at risk so their governments will now be lobbying the EU to sort something out PDQ. There will be some serious recriminations fro
  4. What the latest news has demonstrated is that May's policy of appeasement to the EU was similar to Chamberlain's appeasement towards Hitler in the 1930's. By standing up to the EU and removing any hope that they have of any quizzlings like Corbyn inside Parliament stopping a no deal Brexit, the EU will have to offer a deal. There are already splits in the EU's supposed solidity as reported in European papers and the nearer and more certain a no deal Brexit comes, the more pressure will be put on Brussels by member states who will not want to lose the lucrative British market, their fishing gro
  5. Lizzie is a Brexiteer ?
  6. So M. Verhoftwat; You say that if the UK does not settle its €39 billion bill it will not get a trade deal? Are you aware that the EU sells twice as much to the UK as the UK sells to the EU? How are you going to tell the German, French and Italian car makers that they can't sell anything to the UK because the UK won't pay something it doesn't legally have to? How are you going to tell the French and Spanish fishermen that they can't fish in UK waters after 31st October because your unreasonable demands will not be met? Let's put it another way M. Verhoftwat; How much are you going t
  7. ........... cougars, brown bears, black bears, wolves. Anyone seen the dog? I let him out about an hour ago.................
  8. The season is finally winding down - thank goodness. Hopefully it will be quiet now until the end of October when the rains and the fourth broods of moles arrive then the season proper usually kicks off end of January to mid-February with the arrival of the first broods of the year . I still have a few ongoing issues with a few locations where the moles have migrated to areas where there is moisture in the soil, or where they are crossing customer's gardens heading for these oasis. It ain't half hot wandering about in shorts and sandals in 38C temperatures, and 200 miles of driving in an old
  9. He should get the same treatment as Lord Haw-Haw. Once he has been given a fair trial and found guilty that is. Can't see what Canada's problem is. They have the same right to revoke or otherwise his citizenship.

    RANDY ANDY

HRH Andy used to use his Uncle's pad at Sandbeck for a bit of extra-marital shagging. I came across a couple of his Royal Protection Officers in the early hours. I don't know who was more surprised; me, the protection officers or the two GSD police dogs I was exercising. Probably the protection officers ?
  11. Who is the Maguires 11 manager in our little mini league? Drop me a PM fellah. We need to sort out your team.
  12. That is the long and the short of it. Authority has been taken away by politicians over many years to the extent that today's police are hamstrung by rules, regulations and laws to the point when they cannot efficiently do their job. The problem extends all through the Criminal Justice System and starts with the lack of available places in prisons. No room for more convicts leads to more lenient sentencing and laws brought in to counter increases in detection by CCTV, Forensic and other means. This leads to a reduction in deterrent and an increase in offences being committed directly down to t
  13. That is a good point. One of the beaters I knew lost permission on a good estate because one of his mates went inside a barn / tool shed and was seen on CCTV. He had no reason to go into the barn and no permission to do so. The next day my mate got a phone call off the farmer asking him not to come back. Trust had been lost and trust is a big part of keeping permissions going.
  14. The EU is a collection of states, not a single entity. Any EU military force would be made up of a collection of nationalities like the UN Peacekeeping Force is. There is zero chance of any EU Army / Navy / Air Force being used against dissident EU states or members of the public. It is this sort of rubbish that undermines the Brexit movement. The EU's policies and proposed policies are scary enough without resorting to fantasy. Keep it real!
  15. The thing that a lot of people do not understand is that not every farmer has the right to grant permission. If they are a tenant farmer then quite often they only have the grazing and / or cultivation rights. The shooting rights can be rented out by the owner or estate to a syndicate or retained by the owner or estate. If that is the case then the tenant farmer may not have the right to allow people onto the land even for vermin control. The shoot should take care of that aspect and as already been said; quite often beaters or members of the shoot get first refusal at any rabbit or pigeon con
  16. It gladdens my heart to see all those honest, hard working folk enjoying a quiet few days away in a tranquil little country town.
  17. You won't get permission sitting on your arris on the computer. Drive round the country roads looking for road kill rabbits and if you find any then try and locate the nearest farm and knock on the door. Remember first impressions count so don't turn up in tracky bottoms or a football shirt and don't bring the dogs or kids. Be prepared for more refusals than permissions because every farmer gets loads of enquiries. You are hoping to find a farmer who's previous crew have gone absent or been naughty and got sacked. When I used to drive round the dales looking for rabbit shooting permi
  18. Hoping for a Tielemans hat-trick in the second half ?
  19. Winning the PL with City and a semi final in the CL didn't do Pellegrini much good. Doesn't matter how good Pep is if he doesn't deliver the Sheik's business plan he will be axed. Look at the top clubs who are managed by large corporations. There is no sentiment whatsoever. Pep was actually managing City's transfers almost a year before le left Bayern, behind the real manager's back. He's had the time and the only thing that the owner wants is a European pedigree. Nothing less will do. As for Frankie and Ole; I wish them well. But I can't help feeling that the corporate suits have used p
  20. For me the only team to challenge them in the next few years will be Spurs if they can find an Eriksen replacement. As they showed yesterday; they are a much more potent force with him in the side. But Liverpool & City for the moment seem a class above anyone else. If City don't win the PL it will be down to the prioritising the CL. European glory is why Sheik Petroleum bought the club. He wants to create a global brand and at the moment City have the same European success as Ipswich, West Ham & Everton. If City don't get to the CL final this year I reckon Guardiola will get his P
  21. At the moment he'd settle for a win ?
  22. The attendance aspect and the historical championships that great-great- grandad witnessed are all that he can cling on to. In reality he would trade a regular medium to low premier League position every year to bouncing about in the lower divisions with all the distant memories and enormous ticket receipts that don't seem to benefit the club.
  23. This is the problem. Every fecking thread ends up in embroiled in a discussion about a Mickey-Mouse football club that nobody except our special needs quota actually gives a schit about.
  24. I really have enjoyed all the episodes. As said; Paul Whitehouse is a very skilled angler and Bob Mortimer reminds me of a ten year old full of enthusiasm but no skills, co-ordination or craft whatsoever. He still ends up holding the rod by the lower end of the but after casting and winds in when the fish is taking line ? I think that last night's episode showed that Paul Whitehouse is not that comfortable with the boilies, bivvies and bed chairs approach to angling. He couldn't wait to get away from the four static rods and do a bit of stalking. I can relate to that.
  25. Well, we are almost there for another season of fun, tears and heartache ? After five weeks of research and constant tweaking my squad for the first two game weeks is ready for the 2019/20 FPL season........ I might actually be onto something this year as 11 of the 15 players are the same as the FPL Scout panel of experts squad just published. Hopefully I'll be able to avoid the January slump that has plagued me for the last three seasons. I was 100 points clear of the mini-league rivals midway through last season and only managed to scrape a 6 point margin by the end. Th
