  1. Well there in , perhaps worth getting some putanges as well ... every trap has its place and we all have our bread and butter traps . For me its Duffus every day ...
  2. Binned them , never binned a trap yet , especially at nearly £7 each plus vat ...
  3. They do need bedding into the bottom of the run , just slightly . When I do use them I also attach a short piece of 1.2mm birdwire to the loop by the trigger with a crimp then a make another loop at the other end again with a crimp . . So you have the trap with a short piece of wire attached with a loop at one end . The purpose of this is to then put a wire mole marker through the loop to hold the trap firmly in place.. As said already not my go to trap , but will try on this job and report back.
  4. Thanks Moxy , discreet and effective , just what I wanted to hear . I was just asking as I've never used them as my main trap , which I will do in this situation. Cheers for the advice.
  5. Just wondering if anyone has had any success with the trapline mole trap . I always use the duffus with talpex as a back up , but I've got ajob to do where these maybe the option . I have a childrens play area to clear . Apparently 2 other pest control < ( national companies ) , have tried but had their traps nicked . I cannot use Phostoxin on here for obvious reasons , so it has to be traps , but I want to use a very discreet trap other than my usual duffus traps . I only mentioned Phostoxin as at a fleeting thought I thought it would save the possibility of loosing any traps......
  6. Well done mate needs must , the .22lr is a good tool for foxes upto 75yrds ...
  7. forget you need an airgun license , but with a Fac you have then an open condition straight away on it.
  8. Welcome mate , how far north , lovely part of the world up there.
  9. Any course is just the piece of paper , doesn't mean you know how to be a pest controller , just that you can be one.
  10. Do you have sympathy for him? 14 posts in 10 months and all asking for permission? He's not exactly trying to get to know any of the members is he? Not really , just trying to sound nice-ish , to be honest NO...
  11. Excuse are English humour ,,,,buddy , you can get a great deal of help on here , but you can also read a lot more crap....I hope you are not trying to catch houses !!!!
  12. I do have sympathy with you , it's awful when you have no permission/s , but I can not see anyone giving theirs up , this type of post comes up over and over again....
  13. yep , looks like moles for sure , sounds like you would like them on the lawn , each to their own .... It could be your grass is too long and the moles can't see above it.
  14. For over a fortnight now I've been thinking that must be the last nest , surely , but 4 last week and 3 this week , including one today...
  15. Is that not what Rodenticide is for then , surely it's meant to be just thrown around in a broadcast fashion in a vain hope it may kill anything. I've got two cluster fly jobs to do this week , maybe I should try just chucking Brodifacoum around in the lofts , worth ago !!!!!! NOT !!!!!!
  16. Still happening close to me as well , the very same company as you mentioned have been selling buckets of it to anyone that asks with free bait stations thrown in , I asked what that was all about , the girl behind the counter said ,"sales have dropped , so where trying to sell more of it," what the Fukc , she was oblivious that anything was wrong with what they where doing. It's not just them , so far I've either seen professional labelled rodenticide being sold to anyone who asks for it , one dear little old lady , I can only assume she was not trained or on two occasions I've come across
  17. They like it fixed to an inside solid wall , notice the like , just phone up Wymondham police station where the firearms team are , I always find them really helpful. Welcome to Norfolk , i'm now about to re-locate to scotland ,,, can't wait..
  18. Everyone ones got their best traps , its trial and error and repetitive practice , personally I always use the duffus traps ,( well nearly always ) , if these get filled in I replace it with a Talpex, Works for me .. oh and the first 30 years are the hardest !!!!
  19. Great topic , with some sound advice , just what the forum is all about ....
  20. What the f+$£, walked away without dealing with a pest , he had been asked to control , now that's the way to get a name for yourself ..... most have just been mentioned.
  21. Expensive yes , but you can soon re-coup your costs and have a very good , strong , effective trap...
  22. Very effective , have just had two set in a ladys garden , she told me she had a squirrel , I caught 5 in 10 days . Both traps where on the ground in shrubs near the bird feeders , where the squirrel/s where visiting . I baited them with crunchy peanut butter inside the roof of the trap above the treadle plate . I also restricted the ends using tent pegs , handy to hold them down as well as the trap has pre-drilled holes in .
