Since reading this and becoming very concerned about the general public trying this and my business suffering because of it , not to mention the likely hood that moles may show signs of resistance to either white or pink marshmellows. I believe we should as responsible pest controllers only use marshmellows as a last resort as we do not want legislation brought in similar to rodenticide use . This , I think will lead to a Campaign for Responsible Marshmellow Use , ( CRMU).

My First Sizeable Permission ;-) Well Pleased ;-)
Rowan replied to David Aiken's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Nice one mate its great when you get some decent acreage , opens up quarry possibilities , the harder it is to get the less you will take it for granted. Always glad to see someone getting permission rather than just jumping on here asking for it ,( then they get fed up with the response given). -
I've just got a Benelli M2 , it's more than you price bracket , but if you can find the extra its well worth it..

Sometimes you can be lucky enough to get an odd piece of 4" underground pipe from a builder , the orange stiff pipe they use for drainage , I have recently got hold off some blue 4" flexible pipe again I was passing a building site and saw it ontop off the skip , great find its about 6' long. They will run through any off these , but I would suggest at least 4" pipe.

thanks mate if the early signs are anything to go by its worth every penny.

looks like Voles mate , but the Haggis is also a burrowing creature and is moving slowly out of the highlands due to its ability to fly long distances.

Duffus , tunnel traps and talpex , I use them every day and they earn me a living . Try the flat pack company they make some great traps . Made in the UK .

Really , does it ?? I'll be out of business....

Always have mine castrated , certainly does not effect their hunting ability , if any thing though it seams to make them even easier to handle which is great when they are at work. The usual price is about the same as a cat as a general rule anyway.

Picked it up Monday , shot it yesterday . Very nice gun indeed , great balance and very pointable , I do like the slightly raised rib and red fibre optic forsite . Another nice touch is the red disc which clearly shows when the loading tube is empty . All in all just what you would expect from a leading gunmaker , abit expensive maybe , but a case of you get what you pay for.

Hi Mate , I always use tweezers to remove ticks , but you must make sure you remove all of it and do not leave the head in, don't be over concerned about the fact you have found ticks all working animals pick them up ; but do remove them straight away. As mentioned raw flesh is the best food you can give , but not pork or cooked meats . I have found chicken thighs very good for ferrets , also beef mince. You can also give them raw eggs and goats milk , NOT cows milk. When you get the chance also buy some complete food ferret biscuits , such as Alpha ferret feast , this is 30+% protein and is

Good luck getting one mate , we haven't had any snow to speak about for three winters , including this one , there's still time I know . Occasionaly get a slight flurry , but not even enough to lay ..

If he has as much kit and books/ dvd's as me , he'll never know !!!

Goes something like this: I've read about a new gun , once or twice before . I go to my favourite gunshop , and there it is before me , just inside the door . I strike a deal and order it , can't wait to take it home. I look inside my gun cabinet , to try and make room , but there it is already the gun I've just ordered , I've bought it previously , not once but twice before....
-
Yep can't agree more you can never have enough guns or kit .

Your welcome , you can find some real gems on there , I sometimes think it's a wife having a clearout!

That's what I heard today when I announced to the boss ? , that i had ordered a new gun , well you've got to have a little bit of what you fancy. What I've ordered is a Benelli M2 , 28" barrels with a Comfortec stock , oh yes can't wait.

Just what I wanted to hear thanks, hope this one I've got serves me as well! I've found since I did the course last year that more work is coming in for this as less people are able to buy/use it , BUT I do live in a very agricultural area , next job this Wednesday , if the weather lets me.

Fair bit of expense, mate ?,...& how 'cost effective' will it be (gassing), compared to the use of approved kill-traps,for moles (for example ?). When giving your customers, the choice ? Don't use a chemlock case , I use a ammunition box that was used for baton rounds by the military , the C&G assessor recommended one of these to me , £30 instead of £200,,, .
