  1. Can you tell us more about your experience ? This is quite funny looking back on it but it wasn't at the time. I don't want to go I to the details of where or what I was doing but I ended up getting stopped at an army checkpoint. I had a British passport and camera in my pocket, they put two and two together and got seven, and assumed I was a spy. Then it was off to small military prison where I was interviewed and sat in limbo for two weeks. Conditions and food were fine in a large communal cell with soldiers, civilians, men and women, all watched by a camera. Conditions were not so good if y
  2. I spent two weeks in a foreign jail after being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was released without charge once they had checked my background.

Channel 4 at 2100: Has Political Correctness Gone Mad. May be of interest to some of the members on here.

Cameras are a great deterrent, especially a dome camera as they won't know which direction it's pointing. Pair it up with a PIR activated floodlight at night and that'll give you visual warning if anyone's on the prowl.
  5. I've seen a political party in Moscow training their members in MMA and knife fighting, so it doesn't surprise me that their casuals do the same.
  6. I don't really understand it. Celebrities normally try to be popular with the public but dabbling in politics will make a lot of people dislike you. Maybe the saying 'there's no such thing as bad publicity' is true, or maybe their heads get so big they believe everything their echo chambers tell them.
  7. France is a safe first world country. If they choose to not control their borders it's up to them to look after the people they let in. If they are genuine refugees they should've claimed asylum in the first safe country they entered rather than traipsing half way across Europe to get into Britain.
  8. I would have a lot more respect for some actors if they didn't use their fame to air their political views.
  9. I value my privacy. I'm willing to accept the slightly higher chance of me or my friends being victims of terrorism or organised crime in return for less people knowing what I think about online.
  10. Maybe they kept quiet....Dosnt mean they did suffer depression or spend there evenings twatting the wife It wasn't the thing to talk about it so it was kept under wraps and treated with shame. Having combat experience back then wasn't unusual like today (if fact it was the opposite) so maybe that's why people didn't talk? My great grandfather worked with leather, making cases etc, he was in the infantry in WW1 and apparently his squad threw grenades into a trench where they held captured Germans....sounds like a haunted man to me. Spoke to several vets over the years and they are a
  11. War: the shooting is fun as long as none of your guys get hit, the waiting around gets very boring. I suppose everyone's experience will be different.
  12. Now the story is getting dropped like a rock and CNN and Buzzfeed are looking red faced. There'll probably be more lurid fake news stories to come over the next week. If anything it should be entertaining. I think some US intelligence agencies will be in trouble once Trump takes office.
  13. Some people thrive on being in a warzone, most people don't. You won't know which category you fall into till you experience it first hand.
  14. A wire attached to the half pulled out pin of a grenade, that was taped to a log or summit.
  15. What many people consider to be poverty nowadays would probably be a good standard of living thirty or forty years ago.
  16. One that sticks in my mind is walking into a tripwire a couple of times. Luckily the wire was loose and I happened to look down and froze just as my leg touched it. If I'd been a split second later..

    Boerboel

But doesn't that go for all breeds Yep. Thing is people limit the chance of getting a good dog to suit their needs just because of breed blindness. They set their hearts on one particular breed and sometimes miss out on better dogs and sometimes nearer home. What Mastiffs have you got DS? I love Mastiffs but they don't suit my situation at the mo, but I will have another one or two in the future. I've got an adult female here that's 3/4neo 1/8corso 1/8something else and I've got a female pup that's 1/2neo 1/4 bordeaux 1/4 something else.Normally I wouldn't be keen on bordeaux blood

    Putin

I'd like to see a deal made where the EU and NATO keeps it's nose out of the non NATO former Soviet Republics, and Russia agreeing to stop rattling sabres and trying to extend it's influence into Western Europe. I think Russia's aggressive posturing is caused by the EU and US trying to realign former Soviet Republics away from Russia.

    Trail Cams.

If you decide to buy it set it up high up and out of reach. At night when the PIR's are activated and the camera takes a picture, the IR LED's will probably glow red for a second indicating where the camera is if the prowler is clued up. I'd have a PIR activated floodlight covering the area as well. It is a good deterrent and he won't be able to spot anything in the surrounding darkness.
  23. The ceasefire is now in effect, another big slap in the face for Obama and Kerry. Russian planes were even flying in support of Turkish troops near Al Bab yesterday. Next the Kurds are going to be getting it tight and pushed out of a few areas.
  24. It's been a long time since I've done any lamping so it's not really something I can give advice about. If you're looking for a bright torch have a look at some of the powerful Fenix's, they give out an untinted white light: http://www.torchdirect.co.uk/searchlight-torches.html
