  1. If we still kept the cheap coal fired power stations running instead of expensive windmills and gas fired power stations, we would've still had some deep pits open. At least there's still some smallmines open and they'll probably be the future of coal production in this country with their smaller overheads now that many of the opencast pits are shutting as well. You're far better off with British coal rather than some of the unwashed foreign muck that comes in.
  2. They look the same style as the Dunlop Aciforts. No NCB logo though

If any good comes from Trump's presidency, I think we will at least see a peace deal come together for Syria next year from Russia and America.

    Trump

It's the brexit bus all over again! Already watering down one of his big campaign promises and he hasn't even taken office yet, not a great sign! From what I've read he wants to stop insurance companies preventing people getting medical insurance if they already have medical conditions, as well as allowing young adults to stay on their parents cover.

This is quite a funny video about the soft Clinton supporters: https://youtu.be/wylLtpnT31w

A decent write up about 'smug liberals' versus the working class in America. Has some parallels with Brexit over here: http://www.vox.com/2016/4/21/11451378/smug-american-liberalism

Too many soft people need hardened up instead of being pandered to.

Time will tell if the Republican Party allows Trump to implement protectionist trade policies as they are generally in favour of free trade. If TTIP is scrapped it should mean the EU won't have a better trade deal with America than the UK has with the US.

The second best news I've heard this year after Britain's vote to leave the EU. I'm hoping we can look forward to the end of TTIP, America getting involved in less wars, and maybe even a preferential trade deal with the UK.

I think Hillary is going to win comfortably. I hope I'm wrong.
  15. Quarter Cask Laphroaig - it's a bit smoother and stronger than normal Laphroaig.

  18. It doesn't really bother me that he shot an injured Taliban fighter. If you're going to break any rules or laws, make sure you don't get caught, or don't break them in the first place.

My second hand Altberg Defenders never given me any problems and I've done a lot of digging and running in them. I've always used the Leder-Gris from Altberg to coat them. I'd recommend getting the black colour as it gives them a nice dark brown look, rather than the skittery out of the box colour: http://www.altberg.co.uk/leder-gris/product/leder-gris-original/
  20. Now that people tend to clean up after their dogs the streets and playing fields near me are more pleasant to walk in, as you don't end up dodging the dog shite. Like spitting chewing gum over the street, it seems to have become bad etiquette not to clean up after your dog in urban areas.
  21. If you don't like breastfeeding in a restaurant then complain to the management and tell them you'll be eating elsewhere. If it bothers enough people they'll soon change their policy to avoid losing business.
  22. I haven't looked into this new law yet bar the odd snippet I've read. I wonder if those convicted of cottaging in public toilets will be included in the pardon.

Yup, have a read through this regarding 'child' refugees: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/10/18/two-thirds-of-child-refugees-entering-uk-found-to-be-adults-figu/ Diane Abbott offers to pay her interns £2 below the living wage: http://order-order.com/2016/10/24/diane-abbott-offered-interns-2-london-living-wage/
