Disgusting. Get a link up to a fighting fund and I'll make a donation.
  3. I suppose it depends on whether you use corrections when you train your dog. Used properly I wouldn't say a prong collar's worse than other methods to correct your dog as you use the bare minimum amount of force to get the effect. It does look a lot worse than it is, though going by the comments it isn't for everyone
  4. Leafing through a Sunday tabloid I came across a story that the RSPCA are now campaigning for a ban on prong collars and have started a petition that has over ten thousand signatures. A little search found the petition and they also want to ban choke chains as well. So does anybody use prong collars? I find them useful on some dogs. Although they may look barbaric, properly used your dog is far less likely to strangle itself, and the minimal amount of force is needed to correct your dog compared with a choke chain. Of course there's the scope for people to abuse them but idiots will always
  5. For brains I've always wondered how a malinois x greyhound would fare instead of a collie cross. They're a bit like Alsations but they're lighter, faster, a lot more agile and mainly bred for work. The problem is you might end up with a dog that'd be too much for a lot of people.
  6. As long as you've got something that looks and sounds the part, that'd be enough to keep most people out of your yard.
  7. Is the Alano not a modern recreation?
  8. Hello there, I used to have a wee whippet lurcher that I used on hares and rabbits before she got too old. She wasn't the best worker but it was still great watching the chase. I've now got a big heavy Stafford that'd be useless for hunting. I wouldn't have minded chasing some rabbits for fun with him if he wasn't so animal aggressive and unresponsive when in drive. Because of that he stays on the lead when I'm out. At the moment my outdoor pursuits are limited to keeping the staff in shape and going mine digging. I'm not really in a position to get another dog just now. Hopefully in a yea
