    A old fella i did a bit of work with had an old collie that if we wernt working with sheep he would go and stand in the river for hours just waiting for a fish to swim by and make a strike and would more times than not would catch a brown trout or what ever swam his way. It was about all he was good at though i wouldnt call him a good sheepdog but it could catch fish better than it could work sheep.

    It is just a show piece, the mouth where you would pull it into the leg is too wide. It was made like that on purpose to allow my hand to grasp the shaft, the inside radius at the top of the cleek is about right, the diameter of an old penny . That said it would probably do the job at a push being made of Oak it is certainly strong enough. TC It's a nice piece none the less. Do you ever make shepards crooks?

    Correct me if in wrong but I was told what your dog shits out it's not using so if your dog craps a lot your feeds rubbish. A fella I know uses hills science plan and he feeds his sheepdogs a coffee mug a day an he says your lucky if he gets a shit out of them every 2 days and if they arent working hard they will get fat off it. I did use it for a while and thought it was good stuff but it costs an arm and a leg it's ok for him though his wifes a vet so he gets it for cheap.

    When I started I whent with a mate but I soon got sick of him and his pain in the ass dog so I just go myself and have much better results much better crack with the dog as well.

    I'm also obliged to say a good spot to eat is cocklakes farm shop and cafe at troutbeck opposite the sportsman on the a66 If you don't go there I'm out of a job lol

    If it's a short lake walk u want tarn howes near conistons a unique spot or a bit farther derwent water can take you a few hours to get round it and theres 3 or 4 cafes on the way round in grange and portinscale.

    Have you tried her on the lamp wuyang? Looks a handy sort a bit more robust than a Full lurcher. What's in that dog cleanspade beddy/whippet with something a bit stronger?

    Just hand strip it's free if you leave it long enough it will just about come out in fist fulls. I've tried clippers before and mine didn't like it at all they just went mental other dogs will be different that's just how mine went.

    Fog was hellish here this morning as well. How olds your pup Bonny thing. I like the marks on her nose below the eyes looks a bit different.

    As above webers the way to go my cousins had one for nearly 8 years and it's still going strong makes a good job of anything. There a few quid but if your going to use it a bit there well worth it for the amount of years you will get out of them.

    Have you ever thought about a poly tunnel as a cheaper alternative to you pole barn as you don't need planning permission because there not a permanent fixture and there not to expensive compared to a proper barn. Are them texels out of grey ewes your sheep? What type of tup have you put them to?
