    Ha. You have my sympathies. Knocked over my first buck last week, had to call in reserves to get the bugger to the truck - think I could have just about managed. But back home that was a struggle for two lifting into the fridge. Fitting a winch into the ceiling was on ‘that list’ of things to do………after that experience said winch is now in place so at least this end things will be a lot easier. Well done on your buck.

    Funnily enough I’m just going to a meeting regarding Asian Hornets. As a semi commercial beekeeper I’ve a vested interest. Looking at the bigger picture they really should be a concern to all. Gonna be pretty devastating to all insects until nature finds its own balance

    Having had a bit more time today am in agreement with Semifree Morel. Splitting open very obvious to see the cap as described. Only the one to be found and it had gone over already, one reference stated edible however could cause stomach upset………so unsure if I’d have a go had there been a few more.

    I’d say the C50 is an overkill on an air rifle, better off with a 2nd hand pard 008 or push the boat out & get the pard DS35 50 LRF when/if available. The C50 is a heavy olde lump - that said I’m very happy with it on a centrefire.

    Think you’ll see an increase on that price……..our lambs were averaging £135 a pice at markets last Spring, stick a £50 kill & cut charge on & you’re at £185 per lamb. Think you’re right on that & it’s now hit the bottom. Now they’re looking to increase margins through screwing customers as opposed to screwing suppliers (cause they’ve screwed them all they can). People need to start looking elsewhere as opposed to automatically pulling into the Tesco/Sainsbury’s/Asda/ Morrisons car park

    They tried to digitalise the NHS & look how many millions went into that failed exercise - now they want to issue ID cards to every man & his dog, what a complete waste of time and money. Pillocks ought to get on with managing the issues we currently face not thinking of more hare brained schemes to cause more.
