  1. Depends what you'd like to do with it really. Are you after a dog to chase rabbits or a bushing dog to flush them? what area of hunting are you more interested in or do you want an "all rounder" type?
  2. Thats something I'd love to learn at some point, looks like a good crack. =)
  3. I can't afford to live in the Forest of Dean where I grew up, not unless I pick one of the refurb flats on the outskirts of Gloucester industrial estate anyway. Certainly couldn't afford to live near my parents so I moved out a long time ago and have been city hopping ever since. I LOVE the Forest of Dean its my homeland but the sad truth is the only way I'll afford to buy a house is if my parents died and left me theirs! God forbid. So now I've spent the past few years renting in cheap bedsits but even that drains everything I earn. I'm about to move to Lincoln as I've been up there before so
  4. I'm just lucky I came from a family has always been a little "prepper", not quite to the extremes of doomsday preppers (Love watching it though!) but I know how to build a smoker for meat or fish. I can build a root cellar, and I know a ton of ways to preserve food the "oldie" way thanks to mum. Dads always been of the opinion that you should depend on no one but yourself as the Gov hardly has your personal best interests at heart, one of the reasons he's always prided himself, that he could go out and get a good dinner by making traps. Took me for a walk yesterday and was pointing out all

Ha the only thing we managed to take down was the danger quarry sign! Nothing about, but I did rescue a sparrow from the veg cage so there, good deed of the day done.

  12. You're absolutely right too. One good thing will be that after it does go tits up, there is not going to be much desperation for Bankers Mp's Lawyers etc. It will be Labourers, builders, teachers, medical/dental professionals and anyone who has still kept the old skills such as blacksmithing, cloth making ect.
  13. Aw mate, technically a fox or anything could have jogged by and interrupted the attack so I don't think you letting the dog loose won't have had a massive effect on the circle of life. Bet you made that sparrows day though! Bless you.

    Is It Just Me

Lol Nope, I'm LOVING every second of this. I was built for heat apparently, I suffer in the winter. I did pick up tips back when I've been travelling in the African summers, and the trick is to keep the windows shut all day, curtains closed, seems weird but it works and open them at night. don't sleep on your duvet, that traps heat under you. If possible sleep on a camping mat on the floor. Splash your head under the cold tap before you go to sleep and if you have a fan, direct it at your damp hair and that will cool you enough to drift off. Trick is to remember that shite 9 month
  15. Hence why hunting should be taught in schools, along with how to grow your own veggies and look after basic livestock. That stuff is important, and I work with too many kids who tuck into their Mc Donalds burger while telling me they can't stand that people kill animals for food.... I've been expecting it to all go tits up for a long time now...

    Crb Check

For my work with vulnerable kids and adults I have to have a full disclosure done every year, however you get different types of CRB, a full disclosure is expensive and normally falls to the employer to pay for so they will only do it if they really have too. Otherwise for contact with sensitive data (Dependent on just how sensitive we are talking) They will most likely just do a basic, either way you shouldn't worry as in most cases I have heard of spent minor convictions are usually ignored anyway. You need a CRB to do anything these days... I personally have a bit of a gripe about it a
