  1. Looking for a new gun club in Lincoln, need to get back into it now the move is over finally. =) Missing my gun.

  2. Really sorry to read this, losing your best friend is devastating, no matter what species they are. Pain gets easier and is replaced by the recollection of all the epic times. When my dog died I couldnt speak to anyone about her for about a month but now I love chatting about all the fun we had together, without that lump in my throat.
  3. They look lovely, I love natural catapults, in the middle of whittling one of my own from birch. Its my first attempt, and I wish somebody had told me how f'kn hard Birch wood is!
  4. Out for a midnight walk in the quarry and managed to call in a fox to nearly 20ft away with my distressed bunny impression!

Ah I dont have any gun license, I only had a catty on me haha wasn't going to do much with that. Was just impressed it actually worked! Soon as I switched my torch on again it was right close! Then it freaked and high tailed it out.

Well I like it here, been for a few hikes now and I have been taking photos of every hill I find just to prove to my parents there are hills here, bless them! haha. Need to get out into some proper countryside next and do some wild camping, could never get away with that in Bmth...
  6. I noticed on the front page of the Lincoln echo is the NHS is desperately searching for 50 forigen nurses to make up the shortfall in the UK. I just graduated from a health and social sciences degree and I worked with/friends with a good lot of the 150 enrolled nursing students...just at my university...per year. Now X that by the number of Uni's in the UK doing nursing courses theres got to be a good 2000 brand new british nurses per year coming out?! where the hell is the shortfall!?
  7. I think Pirate sounds like a fine name! I think dogs adjust better than any creature to losing something like a leg or an eye, won't be long and he'll figure out the depth perception again and will be taking bunnies. =)
  8. Well I think I will treat myself to a trek out with the catty, be back in a few hours!

  9. Yeh I have one on my mantelpiece I found as a kid, defo Mr badger.

Just arrived Witnessed three drunken fights 1 polish man in a pond mumbling and one lad so mullered he tripped facefirst into the wall in front of me. It appears I also can't walk anywhere without being whistled or yelled at out of passing cars... This is all on my street... But a 10 minute walk out and I'm in lovely countryside, and my rent is the cheapest it has ever been ever.
  11. Right anyone come across this before: I was out in the quarry for a mooch about with my catty, not really in the hope of catching anything as I was chatting away with a friend when I spotted a bunny that looked like it was caught on wire or something as it was on its belly and moving really weird. (Back legs out and like it was crawling on its hips?) I walked right up to it, no struggle or attempt at getting away, didn't even seem to look about or move it head so I figured it must be mixy? but clear eyed, no mouth froth or any discharge anywhere I could see... Heres the thing thou
  12. Wow, I can not see him being "fixed" by a prison sentence... He will be just as dangerous when he gets out and heading over here!
  13. I'm a grrrl lol I use a bunch of random things I probably shouldn't to make pouches, Including part of my denim Jeans when I broke a pouch while out lol. But you can either buy some off ebay or cut yourself some decent strong leather ones from a strip.
  14. Wow 12 years ago, I remember I was home sick from school and watching TV on my own waiting for mum to get back from shopping. Then all the channels started broadcasting the live images and I thought it was the start of world war three. RIP all those souls lost, and all those brave souls lost trying to rescue them.
  15. Seriously it makes me a tad mad that while this is going on, funding and police boots are being taken away from other slightly more serious crimes, like Domestic violence, rape, murder and thefts.... priorities! I want a dog oneday and I'm worried that the second I get one I'll be branded a criminal and unable to even run a bunny. =(
  16. I would love one, but still in the wrong financial position for a dog =( Very good offer for somebody though, good luck.
  17. I have a gamekeeper, it's done me well over the past few years. If your able to make your own you can buy pretty large rolls of theraband gold off the bay and cut out loads of bands.
  18. In need of small budget torch suitable for scanning fields and learning to spot bunnies/foxes etc, Doesn't have to be gun mounted just a bit stuck for suggestions!

cheers guys, I think I will go for it. Will have to wait till I get some spare cash though, so in the meantime I'm going to risk taking apart my 1600Lumen Cree and find out where the connections dodgy.

  19. =( I'm very sorry to read this, RIP to your brother and I'm sure no words needed to be spoken for him to know what he mean't to you. Best wishes to you and family during this hard time. x
  20. This has been by far one of the most interesting threads I've read, however now I've ended up at "that side" of youtube watching trained goldfish dance...

These people have obviously never owned a dog and their only contact has probably been either stepping in dogshit or having a dog growl at them randomly. (Dogs know when you're a kunt) It makes me mad that they instantly go to the extreme of "hating" something they clearly don't know much about, (Like a lot of things really...) and slightly concerned that they are so okay with overstepping that mark further into condoning violence and torture as "okay" because it's what they think. These are the kind of people that are one step away in my opinion from moving that attitude over to peopl
  22. Enjoyed my walk out into the abandoned quarry full of bunny's I seem to have discovered on my walking trips, also enjoyed watching the other gentleman run his dog after them as he hadn't noticed me sat up on the edge, best view! I did trip over a discarded bunny head though back on the path!

  23. Wonderful pics! I collect dead ones to use in artwork and jewelry, but as I never "capture to kill" This year I have only been lucky enough to find some brown speckled ones and the odd cabbage white. Nothing as pretty as the painted lady.
  24. Yeh don't worry, I'm sure all the rain won't be long! I'm enjoying the last scraps of summer before I resign myself to our 8 months of drizzle!
  25. BPR you are a true gentleman, I've seen you give away more than you must sell on here! I'd say have a crack at making one too though, Im about halfway through my whittling one and it's already giving me loads of pride! Good luck to your little lad!
