Your top 3 Spring rifles and top 3 pcp rifles ?
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Don`t forget Jimmy the short stroked TX has a single, very quiet click on engagement, super quick lock time as well now but hey - I`ll look inti the Pro Sport as I find PCP is starting to bore me . Don`t get me wrong though, I`ll always use them depending on my hunting requirements. -

Well got my van back - no repairs ( £££ ) req` from it`s mot A £130 for 6 mth road tax though The Dragon`s birthday in a few days too ( £££ ) Soooooo I was thinking - I have two HW`s, a 100 KT & KS .177 & .22 respectively I have the FWB Sport 127 & 124 .22 & .177 respectively I have an AA T Rex 200 hc mk3 .177 hmmm what rifle would match her - aye Mac ? -
I`m sorely tempted to go Spring rifle hunting first, PCP 2nd. So, so much less faffing about with spring rifles, so much more spring shooter involvement , just much more skill and testing of shooters skills involved with the spring rifles.

James detests the thought of a Prostitute Sport losing to a T Rex . -
Had a little time on the paper work this afternoon with the old girl , the FWB Sport 127. ( .22 cal). Put her through her paces this afternoon as I really wanted to test the old 4x40 w/a Tasco scope as well as the FWB 127. If you remember, I took two grey squirrels, one after the other, just a few days back with her and I gained a lot of confidence with this gun. 1st shots, To take in the accuracy, those are drawing pins with a 5p to give idea to how close that 40 yr old combination is getting. A slight tweak to the Tasco scope.

Who shot those groups Jimmy ? " Only wondering like " x -
The survival instinct of rats is incredible. Years and years ago old Crip, the farmer, was a bit naughty and put some gin traps down for them. I`ve never forgot seeing a sprung trap where the caught rat had gnawed it`s own feet off to escape.

Happy New Year Lads ! Absolutely still, calm and breathless wind in sunny Lancashire this 2018 morning Paper work on all the guns today and put some serious zero`s into them all. ( no pigeon heads) atb Mark

I was talking to Tony Wall, owner of Sandwell Field Sports, this time last year and he highly recommended the HW95 Lexus, for hunting especially. I am thinking of a new gun myself, toyed with the thought of another pcp but how much do you better the HW 100`s ? So I may finish my cabinet with a springer, I think. Ripley rifles look a bit special ? Beautiful looking 95K Jeff Looking forward to your posts/ photos . atb Mark.

Just taking in some of this months excess wood pigeons to the birds of prey centre. The old girls took 24 woodies and two Squirrels this last two weeks. Not forgetting the T Rex with 13 woodpigeons off a bean field. Here`s a few corvids and rabbits waiting for decoying off cradles, - deadly method. yes Mac ! they are all from this last fortnights freezer before you start ranting and raving Just spring rifles in December,- " It get`s your eye in "

Feinwerkbau 127 heads up

If it`s a 124 (.177) you would be " barking mad" not to buy it ! - " no disrespect to anyone". The 124 ( rare to find ) would sell for £350 with ease What site/ address is this on anyone please ? Found it ! a 127 ( .22) in " fair" condition - £200 is a " fair price" polish and fettle she`s right again. -
Duck shooting on Christmas Morning at it`s best !
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in Airgun Hunting
Yeah I know, - that fecking duck accused me of using shooting sticks to rest on to take a shot you know -
Yes, a slow winter here also. I`ve completely left the rabbits alone ( grass land) and their return is strong. Nice shooting BN as per p.s. Remember where you put your rifle, that camo` is so good you`ll lose her atb.

Thanks Jeff -
To be fair Jimmy, I`ve shot the FWB Sport rifles none stop since I was 15 yrs old. Although the T Rex is a very fine Springer, personally I pick whichever one up on the day according to how I want to shoot/ feel. I am guilty of picking the FWB`s up more than the T Rex of late Jimmy and that might give you that impression of better results with the FWB`s. atb Mark

I`ll have that to Jimmy. She was tuned for the decoying but accuracy wise she was very good out of the box .

"Why oh why did I get the TX tuned" Jimmy ? - you asked for it ! MERRY CHRISTMAS !
