  2. Rez - urban hunter, you tube, skin/ board squirrel. I like to double up the skins in my wellies for winter,- nowt better under your feet for complete warmth. !
  3. Took my classic combination out for a few hours today. FWB Sport mk1, Tasco 4x40 w/a ( 1978 set up ) Here`s the fixed ret` view as I check zero on a knurl on the tree trunk at 33 yds. Kaiser retrieving from the base of the tree. --- " Gotcha ! " Had to be very careful of trajectory and spindle branches but took two nice plump Greys for the table. Both squirrels were taken with heart / lung shots using F.A.P. - instant despatch ! Both prepared for the pot but I thought I would take the hide of one of them to try and tan it ,- I`
  4. As per you two Nice shooting and tactics atb Mark.
  5. The biggest rule I keep when springer shooting is - " Never, ever, take a grip of the fore end " just let her lay in the palm of your hand/ or over your hand and allow the shot cycle to do it`s own thing. Your accuracy will improve considerably Lifting your thumb alongside the stock when shooting is as much as I ever interfere with that shot cycle. This is why I "adore" hunting with spring rifles, - your shooting knowledge and skills truly get tested, where as with PCP rifles they get "
  6. Your a top lad Jimmy and if I do take the plunge, I will definitely take up your kind offer of help and advice It`s the same old thing after work these dark cold nights. - crap telly and beer. I need to get rid of the telly Yeah, I might have a dabble, complete novice like but " FUN" Thank You Jimmy.
  7. Nice shooting Jeff, You need a camera for Christmas mate, - " Gun porn" Might try and sneak out myself today with the old FWB Sport 127, ( .22 )
  8. Hmmmm , glad I refused to go further now. This chap is back on free ads selling a " rare" gat rifle, - bit of a dealer me thinks is Chorley Boy. No disrespect but we now know you are dealing air rifles. Good luck.
  9. Proper shooting as per BN - compliments mate You should try the pigeon heads Mac. You might shoot something x
  10. What`s a transvestite Uncle Mitch ? Uncle Stealthy will know ! " Ask uncle Jimmy" - why ?
  11. Jimmy. That`s one lovely job mate, credit to you.
  12. Nice shooting BN I see " The Spoon" hath spoken, " again" Hmmmmm - I`ve heard about this type of field craft Just for Mac at Twatmas X
  13. They all want a good job of it Matt especially after 40- 50 yrs . I would probably be better lowering my sights, if I do have a go, to something for a novice like me to say a nice old mk1 meteor or similar ? Then mither Jimmy/ lads daft with questions
  14. You are all correct lads and yes Matt, the one in Chorley . He wants £200, I offered £160 in the end and still wasn`t enough.( I did start at £100)but he didn`t know that was me. Yeah Rez, why not have a dabble at a bit of restoration work for Winter evenings. Lets face it, if Mac can do it, we fecking can ! x
  15. What would this old girl be worth lads ? A full restoration would be required. She`s on free ads ,- I`ve put an offer in twice

  17. No chrony boys I`m gonna use the clubs . So what shall I be getting,- socks and trollies probably. There is an Arms and Militaria fair near to me in January though with lots of old classic air rifles for sale. " Only saying"
  18. Absolutely Tim. Vortek are being mithered to produce their kit for the FWB Sport and I`m told are about to do so. Imagine a tuned FWB Sport with the Vortek kit fitted Well I`ve two FWB`s waiting Tim Meanwhile I want an old HW 35E - new piston, Vortek kit and in .177 - mouth watering.
  19. I was on my jollies at my best mates Nine`s ( Welsh Grandmother, spelling ? ), anyways she was called Nine Bodfari as she lived at Bodfari .( we were both just 15 yrs old) A knock on her cottage door about 8pm on the Sat` night that we landed and for Wed` night the bought Hare was being served. One taste and the plates were pushed away by us both - fecking horrible ! p.s. Same here Phil, I never shoot Hares, I too, like to see them around.
  20. I`m going to give that a miss as you wouldn`t believe the shit they eat , feck that! However, I`ve tasted Coot and Water hen, they were appalling, when I stayed in Wales as a kid. For me though, the worst tasting wild game meat by a country mile was Hare. The nicest shot game I always eat, including all my family is 1st Squirrel, 2nd Rabbit, 3rd Wood Pigeon with little between them.
  21. Just been reading an old post or two in the Airgun BBS forum Jimmy/ lads about the HW 35 leather/ synthetic seal. It`s under " collectable Air Guns" - HW 35 leather or synthetic seal. This particular guy has a leather seal (piston) that needs replacing and is going to buy a Chambers conversion. One of the HW boffs (Mick) says - " Don`t do it " ! He says, - the steel adaptor adds weight to the piston and also shortens the 65mm stroke. He goes on to say,- The best bet is to buy a
