A day at mhoptons and a few hours at the range
mark williams replied to bigmac 97kt's topic in Airgun Hunting
I`ve no doubt mate, Si sure seems to know his stuff You know me Jimmy, I like to get close, - that part of air gunning is " THE " buzz I crave, - outwitting the vermin. Pulling the trigger is very much in second place. I know that we are all guilty of wanting to find the golden chalice in air gun hunting but " whatever " air rifle you use, however tuned, or " pumpadoozered up" it is,- to get within 35 yds of your quarry - or closer, truly is the skill ! Under 35 yds, with a spring rifle, shot placeme -

Lovely write up Jimmy, great pics too. Gods Garden that place surely is lads If you want I can book you in for some shooting lessons next week as Mitch has nearly finished his Free mind but don't tell Mitch -
Quick Mitch, - you forgot to say " No disrespect intended" !
-
A HW 100, B.S.A. Ultra, etc, etc would surely serve better than an old Rapid, " Wouldn`t they ?" Unless, of course, you like to shoot classic as I do. No disrespect intended Rapid lads.
-
Any member shooting any HW 100 in any format is a fully fledged Twat and is made into an instant " Twat Club Member". atb Mark.

I don`t know about your areas Police Mitch but to phone in around my neck of the woods - it`ll be time to come home before the feckers answer the phone !
-
Nice shooting Phil I didn`t know that you are a member of our " Twat Club"
-
Mitch, I`ve been shooting very nearly half a century and never phoned the police to tell them I`m shooting, nor have they ever asked me to. I suppose we could all bend to the wind and just ring them, if that`s what they want though ? p.s. - did you shoot something " for once" ? " Only asking like"

I think a "short cut" is on the cards if such a decision is made. Shotgun or fac = instant licence but at extra charge . A naughty background, depending how naughty,- refusals will be given. Drug offences, assault offences, - refusals. It`s not rocket science, first refusals will be checking criminal records. In the next breath though,- the amount of money that`s involved in our sport these days is just incredible, I would just leave things as they a

Good idea that Mitch Where did you get the bits from ?

Took myself and Kaiser onto a permission, if you remember, I was trying to promote the numbers of rabbits a few years back. Well they are looking well settled now and the ground is worn with activity. This area is a good 300 yds long now with intermittent warrens Any of you lads that trap, just check that fox track out, begging to be snared, if you own a shot gun to despatch Charlie with, once caught. The track is directly under Kaiser`s nose.( forgive the gun )

Ordered and paid for, the " NEW GUN"
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
You just hit the nail on the head Si . Weight, Primos sticks and .177 go together beautifully - I want to get some really big bags of wood pigeon this season, if I can. I much prefer the skill required to shoot big bags of pigeon with spring rifles as opposed to pcp. Fair play and I`m eating humble pie but that Pro Sport, "untouched" , fitted me like a bloody glove,- I missed nothing, zilch, zero. Mine was ordered and paid for yesterday. -

Oh Yessssss !!! -
Aye up Tom where`ve you been hiding ? Yes mate your old scope is going onto the FWB Sport 124 (.177) and I ordered some new Sports Match mounts for it when I ordered the Pro Sport rifle. I took your scope with me to the gunsmiths to make sure I was getting the correct mounts for the old FWB weaver rail. The gunsmiths said to me to take a look at a brand new scope called Weaver, which is a complete copy of old scopes like these and made in a blued, steel housing. As you can guess Tom, I refused and said that the FW

Oops , started as phone and invoice numbers and got carried away. I found them at £575 at Cheshire Gun Room, Bolton so asked my mate will he do price match, which he gladly did, so £575 Sean. They will ring me Matt when they receive delivery, hopefully very soon but they did mention weekend will get in the way, so if not tomorrow, Tuesday "ish". -

Hmmmm nearly --------------- twat ! -
I`ve been shooting the FWB`s for well over a year now but the 124 has been wearing a Mamba Lite scope, so not truly classic Anyway some months back one of the forum members, Tom Burrows ( hope the spelling is ok) very kindly offered and gave me a Bushnell 4x38 scope which will shortly be mounted on the 124 and the Mamba will be put onto the new rifle. So the classic hunting will be with a Tasco 4x40 w/a ( on the .22 cal 127) and Tom`s Bushnell 4x38 ( on the .177 cal 124) The upper rifie is the 124, bottom rifle is the 127 and totally

For taking rabbits through the night, put your money back in your pocket and try these. Nice warm fire and quality wire .
