  1. Good shooting Mole, cant help but notice, how dry is the ground in that picture. atb
  2. Great looking rifle and good shooting mate. atb
  3. My own choice would be the German Short Haired Pointer for all types of shooting, with the English Springer my 2nd choice (just). atb
  4. Well that pigeon breast crown is now in the slow cooker alongside a joint of beef and not the freezer. The crown was still warm when placed it in the slow cooker, now that's fresh, only dead an hour ! atb
  5. Mate that was a decision you`ll "never regret" the accuracy will blow you over.I too have the HW 100 kt in 177 cal. I`ve just walked in from some lay and wait shooting and only got one shot at a wood pigeon at approx.` 40 yds , it is in my freezer with a headshot.I have reached a point with the HW 100 kt that if I miss I am disappointed in myself, that is how good these rifles are. I also have shotguns but I find I`m always reaching for the HW 100 kt . atb
  6. Nice looking rifle and good shooting mate. atb
  7. Hi Big Mac, Little Hunter, that was a smashing write up and read my very best wishes to you both. atvb
  8. Superb bit of shooting mate "well done". atb
  9. Hi guys , tried the same routine this afternoon and bagged three wood pigeons that had no idea I was there. I simply stand inside the open van doors and wait, the local vermin take no notice whatsoever as my van mingles in amongst the farm vehicles .When the farmer cuts his crops soon I will certainly use the farm vehicles by the trees to my advantage. atb.
  10. I love to see a hunter put good, honest food on the table. Good shooting mate. atb
  11. Sounds like you have a very nice permission there mate. atb
  12. Your punctuation is poor headmaster , check the missing apostrophe. atb (better things to do than this)
  13. One thing I have learned around the farm yard, is that if I use my crew cab transit, with doors open on the side I`m shooting from, the vermin around the farm yard rarely notice you are there. This helped a lot in getting the two Magpies. Hope the punctuation was a little better for you headmaster Grea ? atb.
  14. Great shooting Stuart, those accupels seem to work don't they ?Nice looking rifle too. atb
  15. The farm where I shoot is plagued by two very early magpies each and every morning so this afternoon I went down to the farm yard to zero check the HW 100 kt 177 cal with a view to an early morning shoot tomorrow. To my surprise both birds appeared out of nowhere cackling aloud as can be -I had my crosshairs on the birds instantly but their heads were behind branches so I placed the crosshairs on the heart/lungs of the first bird - it just folded and fell, its mate looking down at it and whack ! that magpie took a heart/lung shot too,it was despatched the moment the pellet hit home. Happy
  16. Cheers Phantom, I did notice the stick in a small preview of the dvd and wondered why ? but yes the little tips you pick up after years of shooting make dvd`s like these valuable to say the least. atb
  17. Well I`ve just bought Davids dvd`s online through Virtualnewsagents, com - hope they are half as good as the reports these dvd`s are getting. Well done David, atb.
  18. Hi all, I am considering getting a German Shorthaired pointer as my gundog and would prefer him outside in a kennel.I have heard that to keep this breed of dog in a kennel really does not suit it. Any truth in that please ? atb.
  19. 177 for placement of shot/accuracy and head every time
  20. Stuart you are leaning in the right direction for me,- shot placement is everything and the HW 100 kt 177 is so accurate its untrue. atb
