  1. Hi Mate, some good advice given I believe from the lads on here, I am shooting the HW 100 kt in 177 cal and get an easy 40 shots of great accuracy and power, which I find to be plenty for a days hunting. If your budget is below , or around £500 for a new rifle take a "very" serious look at the Brocock range, the write ups and reviews for these rifles are very encouraging indeed. Good luck.
  2. Save a bit more mate for the HW 100 - never known anyone to dislike these guns. atb
  3. Hi guys, I`ve been an air gunner of 40 yrs + using all types of springers in .22 cal and found the Fienwerkbau 127 (.22)(spelling ?) outstanding throughout the years. Some 12 months ago I was at my local range and saw and heard and tried the HW 100 kt .177. I immediately went out and after advice bought the .177 cal version and have never looked back, my game bags have Trippled and my choice of calibre to .177 will never change - lethal if you REMEMBER = shot placement is deadly and the HW 100 accuracy is 2nd to none. atb
  4. Magpies tend to go around in groups and since I bought the HW 100 kt dropping a magpie usually brings another shot for the fast reloading HW. Shooting a pair of Magpies is now quite normal. atb
  5. Hi Daz/ all , Photo by phone the rest by computer,(thank you mate) atb
  6. Hi Daz/ all , I`d love to put some pictures up for everyone but I`m unable to as we cannot fathom out how to do it. I`m no computer person but my son has tried and failed with photo bucket, probably something and nothing as he is good with computers normally. atb.
  7. Such peace and deafening quiet sat in the hide today - "bliss". Five hours went as quickly as one - Two Magpies (heart lung), Two Woodpigeons (same),One carrion Crow (same), one huge carrion crow (same) then a lull of about 1 hour or so - Five more woodies (heart , lung). I used to strictly shoot head shots only with the 177 calibre HW 100 KT, but now I prefer the heart/ lung shot as it is absolutely humane. Stone dead instantly each and every time.(Air Arms Fields). atb.
  8. Ruthless predators those mink and will kill for the sake of it, like a fox does. atb
  9. Nice read up mate and good shooting atb
  10. Gravity and angles mate plus your distances. You would have to practice and zero to one particular spot on the warren in my humble opinion, as the zero would be forever changing. atb
  11. Hi Craig, Which calibre are you using mate, the incline you are shooting down is going to give you a bit of fun on the zero is it not ? atb
  12. Great shooting mate, your going to need plenty of pastry. atb
  13. Keep hold of the HW 100 Skot you would regret selling her. atb
  14. Excellent shooting mate, the rifle is a good looing unit. atb
  15. Well guys set the new hide out and used my HW 100 KT .177 and new shooting sticks. I folded up six wood pigeons with heart/lung shots at 30 - 40 yds, then three Magpies one after the other while they cackled and cackled at the first shot Magpie, the speed of reload on modern pcp`s is lethal in these situations. The seventh pigeon shot I think I can class as outstanding HW 100`s accuracy, it was perched behind branches for about 5 min`s and I couldn`t take a shot, all you could see was the bottom half of its body. It seemed to settle and started to preen itself but when it preened its rear
  16. Hi Targa, That is very heavy indeed 16 grain and would give the trajectory of a .22 and punch of a .22 I would guess ? Has anyone tried these yet ? atb
  17. Would agree with Skot, my own humble opinion is the HW 100 kt as it`s "very hard" to miss with this rifle especially in 177. atb
  18. Treated myself to a new hide set up, shooting sticks, jack pyke bucket seat, new J.Pyke hide poles etc, etc, and went down to my permission with the HW 100 kt 177 to watch and learn the pigeon habbits. I left the rifle behind at the farm to "concentrate" on the pigeons and their habbits firstly and after a good hour and a half went and picked the HW 100 KT up and returned to my chosen hide spot and waited.I was presented with two shots and took both with heart/ lung at a good 45 yds, both just folded and were despatched the moment the Air Arms Field struck (with no hide set up )
  19. Outstanding bag of rabbits well done to you, atb
  20. Hi mate, I own the HW 100 KT 177 also and I find its the best air rifle I have ever owned by a country mile. I find that "shot placement" head shot (always) coupled with the outstanding accuracy of this rifle gives it the edge above its rivals (in my humble opinion). atb and enjoy
  21. Still laughing away here, I like the look of the .25 calibre in action Daz if that was a 177 calibre there would be a hole in the squirrel , the fence and your neighbours t&tty top atb
