  2. Hi mate, In a pcp - HW 100 KT 177 - i struggle to miss In a springer HW 97 KT- tuned Zeroed at 35 yds will need a one milldot holdover to hit the money at 50yds. Air Arms Field Diablo (in my humble opinion) Do remember though mate that the holdover will be different with different pellets,The HW 100 loves Air Arms Field. atb.
  3. nice shooting mate, your write up had me laughing scientifically atb
  4. How lucky was i today - got an old permission back from years ago approx` 200 acres and then called on the neighbouring farm and got that too approx` acres. On one small area of the bigger permission approx` 600 yds long embankment of the dual carriageway there are some rabbits,- rabbits are few in my area and i`m thinking leave them to breed and hunt that area in future months. Pigeons are plentiful around here so the new HW 100 KT 177 should see some extra sport now. atb
  5. Hi mate - top drawer shooting, My question is why would you want a different gun to the one giving you these results? atb

  11. Well i`ve shot a lot of springers in my time (the last 40 yrs) and all in 22,its not hard to learn your guns trajectory with a range finder and pre learned hold over stuck to the back of your lens cap (i`m not having a dig lads the 22 is a deadly piece of kit - dont i know it ) Recently i treated myself to the first pcp i have ever owned - the HW 100 KT 177 cal, and i can`t put it down,- i find it very hard to miss, simple as! I have been going down to the ranges on a regular basis with the pcp and once the + cross hairs are set,"they are set". I find that i
  12. Nice shooting mate, you have great permissions by the look of things. atb
  13. very interesting this debate, i too have seen this when the pellet was not quite "on the money" . What are the thoughts on heart/lung? When i`ve shot woodies with a 22 the breast meat is ruined, but in 177 the pellet goes straight through - both front on shots. When i`ve got a shot from behind the bird both cal are deadly between the shoulder blades (if you will). Woodies have armour plated breast bones that a 22 struggles to get past(at range) to get to the heart, the 177 does go through the armour in my experience and will reach the vital organs but to be hone
  14. Looks great Craig, With the camo effort you`ve put in you should surely reap the rewards. One thing i noticed even camo`d up was i got "far less" fly away if the gun was always in position ready or "shoulder" my gun just as the pigeon was landing. Hats off to the effort mate atb
  15. well done mate the trees were bent double here and lost glass out of the greenhouses
  16. Paper targets were the order for a late afternoon start with simulated targets like rats head just sticking out of a corner, crow perched, woodies, standard targets, spinners etc i must have used a good 200/300 pellets through the HW 100 KT 177 and won the top prize a friggin` coconut Gist to the story lads is the confidence that is built in the ranges indoor and out is a great "rub off" when i`m out in the field. atb
  17. Get it in 177 cal Craig/guys its so accurate it`s untrue atb
  18. Hi guys, In my area Lancashire (sunny Wigan) the rabbits are few to be seen, but the wood pigeons are in there thousands. Every hunt i go out on i bag pigeons and the "thousands" we are seeing now will be X 6 over the year What are the numbers like elsewhere ? atb
