  1. thats up the west coast of scotland , great scenery make you proud to be scottish , the rabbits up there are for the asking , as there pests to small holders ,cant beat a busmans holiday , at least you had no hassle with guns this time , cant beat areas that are open not been botherd to much , al the best
  2. any thing to stop them ,ille give you a laugh was rabbiting up hills in bonny scotland small pop hole put the ferret box in front with door open i was f***ing about with bleeper , grabbed box a rabbit in it , was fun , back in the eighties we used to use old jackets sacks on sticks the dog would chase the hare, hare would think jackets were men gave the dog the edge as we new every run they used , to escape , suprising even as youngsters i soon learnt what way they went as we had harrrasd them till they were super fit , saw me run out of nets rabbting and blocked the next warren wit
  3. any good dog man only breeds to selected bitches and freinds , why give other people your stock , if it was just money get out and graft if your fit enough , dont like the way peole peddle dogs just for money there enough shite on the ground with out furthering it, keep it tite and bred [BANNED TEXT]
  4. once you get handy at making nets the old gage is hardly needed, i use to use a gage on every end mesh and the rest free hand but recently al freehand find it easier
  5. best way fireman fech making rat nets years ago when we ferreted hedge rows for rats we would get bits of wood old bags anything to give the dog a chance , old trawl nets work to ,cut to maybe 15 inch deep by however long you need them, as its stiff couralene ,and peg bamboo canes in or anything handy ,its just a blocker
  6. give me am ole lercher smithfeild dog to roam the lanes o bonny suffolk ,living on the road that was the old smithfeilds, but they through greyhound through them so not about now in the uk
  7. i like bully very simliar to the staghound salukis ive saw in the usa ,and they are the best hare catchers over there i like a dog with a good skull as most have a running brain between the lugs something you cant train , or get fit, they either have it or not , take that as a compliment as ive saw 30 years and more of coursing dogs, here and the usa ,the early coursing dogs bred from the deerhoundy lurcher ,to the saluks were like bully alot , not to hyper and half sensible with manners,

  14. SMALL DOGS ARE NOT THE BEST LOCALY anything under 23 is small, you get the odd smal one that runs well , but a lot not got the build to run with long slip on sally or roe back in the day ,i deal for hedge row ferreting ,and bolting ,i always liked to be over gunned than under at times ,so like a good 24 to 26 lurcher same build as there smal cousing but a bit more strenth and running lenth

  17. not into bright coulors prefer just a white net that coulors itsself with age , i spray my pegs makes it easier to see , ,use all sorts for making nets , i like plenty bagging to tangle a rabbit saying that dogs on them quick , i think the net thing is done to hell , as i say a meter long at least and a good bit of bagging catches rabbs , hate seeing nets that are spred tite on ahole to cover it leaving no bagging round edges not enough kill in it
