years ago we used to get 5 inch net on the diamond catch hares odd fox then we got better running dogs and nets went out the window ,, but always made gill lobster nets pots rabbit nets , getting a lot of land now so nets have came back as some very steep land and rough for dogs , what i like about long net and lurcher combo in day lite dog takes up his position marks set , i walk round of warren with quickset ,not walking over burries two or three, ferrets in rabbits out , nets up and move on ,gives you an option for big bankings to long net, top, bottom and run a section through ,work

a good hunter shouldnt need nite site,i do all my speculating late summer then check runs warrens through season ,then long net it , i can see the piont of nite sites but a lot of places i do are blind sets so better runing quick set , couple of fifty yarders and getting on with it rather than star gazing as it isnt a party and to much equipment to bother with at times, net ,dog ,small torch plenty enough

sorry asossaition of working lurchers lol but for me lurchers runing dogs were a one man thing not a club they were owned by people who were poachers only recently the lurcher became an honest hunting dog and quite rightly to at times
-
a lurcher clubs a great thing if you gain land and hunting rights to participate your chosen game , i would vote a club had one years ago gd crack
