    I think you've misunderstood me, so let me clarify. I meant in what way are they "my" government, and not yours ? Since we both live in this country, surely it is OUR government - like it or not ! Foreign aid I would best describe (as I have many times) as a good way of transferring money from poor people in rich countries to rich people in poor countries. I do not support it, and never have, never will. But this isn't about foreign aid or the nature of our government.     No-one here has said it's true, and the report is full of "allegedly" and "according to" references. But, if this IS proved to be true, then a major stream of terrorist funding has been disrupted.....and surely we all support that, don't we ? if you support it get your Government to stop overseas Aid where is most of that diverted to or is that more tin foil ? What's tin foil got to do with anything ? I didn't bring that up. In what way is this "my" government, and how do you suggest that I stop foreign aid - which, incidentally, I've never supported anyway.

    My council (Milton Keynes) employs a chap called Duncan Sharkey. His title is Director of Place (?), a job created especially for him, and he is paid the princely sum of £140,000 - about the same as the Prime Minister ! This is a measly £35,000 more than his previous "job" at Worcester council........ Meanwhile, back in the real world......

    Love cricket in all its forms, and I spent many happy days at Trent Bridge as a lad, but the Indian Premier League takes some beating ! I can marvel for hours over the subtleties of a top flight spin bowler. I reckon that once you can appreciate the skill involved in that, you'll be hooked !

    I've always been a fan of the Principle of Occam's Razor - which can be paraphrased as "the simplest explanation is probably the truth"....... The thinking is that the more variables and assumptions that an explanation requires, the less likely it is to be true.
