  1. History tonight at 11. Cheers JB !
  2. What's the best dog sedative available "over the counter" (no prescription) ?
  3. It's not even resolved whether Corbyn will be on the ballot. Does he get on automatically, or does he need the requisite nominations ? He could end up taking his own party to court ! If you're one of those who wouldn't vote Labour if your life depended on it, this should still matter to you, because it gets to the very foundations of democracy. If we don't have an effective, combative opposition, then we have no functioning democracy. If Labour is ineffective or split, with no prospect of ever being elected, then what were left with is an unfettered Conservative party, not subject to a
  4. It's not just breeders that are stupid ! She and I used to foster dogs for a local charity, until they could be rehomed (mostly ones that weren't faring very well in kennels), and one time we had a Neapolitan. His owners had signed him over, as they "didn't realise he would grow so big"......!! He looked like the "before" picture shown earlier - smashing dog ! Loyal and absolutely fearless.
  5. I see one of the Williams brothers won the women's title. Anyone fancy Murray for the men's ? Anyone watching tomorrow ? Anyone care ?
  6. Personally I can't imagine living in a country where the state can summarily execute you in the street for the heinous crime of putting your hands in your pockets. Land of the free indeed You do! UK Armed police would respond exactly the same to such a potentially threatening behaviour. The difference in the US is that all police interaction are of that type. I was on the receiving end of a stop by armed police a few years ago (mistaken identity, thankfully !) Rest assured that, with the dangerous end of a Glock pointing at me, I did EXACTLY as I was told !!! Now imagine that's
  7. Amid all the doom and gloom, let's lighten things up with a simple question...... What 3 things in your life are you most grateful for ?

  9. . Yeah but come on, he was selling CD,s from his car, I don't think the colour of his skin would make a jot of difference, for a crime so dispicable, as that, or am I just being naive, He was reported to have threatened someone with a gun,he then resisted arrest and apparently reached for either his or one of the police mens guns (I've read both). If that's true, then it's his own fault. But you can't blame the police for being jumpy over there, there's low trust societies and then there's less than affluent mixed societies. They need to segregate ASAP,black police in black areas, paid fo
  10. I hope none of the dead officers are black ! Otherwise "Black Lives Matter" will have to become "Black Lives Matter......as Long As Its Not a Black Policeman !"
  11. Nice one, mate. I've developed quite a soft spot for them, I have to say. Ours was lucky that the dogs are raw fed, so he happily munched down on the minced chicken, but was also partial to sunflower hearts, dried mealworms and even unsalted, chopped peanuts. Just a word of warning to anyone who finds themselves feeding them...hedgehogs are lactose intolerant - regular cows milk is a no-no.........lactose free milk only ! If you can't get it, goats milk is a OK for a while.
  12. Andrea Leadsom ha said she would "review" the waste of money that is HS2, and favours a repeal of the Hunting Act.....what else ? Oh yeah - she's a hard-line 'Brexiteer' ! I only hope that Tory members will bear in mind that, while Scameron has been a 5hit PM for all these years, Mrs May has been his Home Secretary...... Where his pledges on immigration were broken, she was in charge of delivering them. When border checks were temporarily scrapped, it was on her say so. When deportation of foreign criminals failed, it was on her watch. And while the prison service is on the brink of co
  13. Is it just me, or has the whole world gone stark staring mad ?
  14. Good point. Well? I am definitely NOT gay.......but I think my boyfriend might be !
  15. Well, I wasn't going to bring this up, but.....
  16. That's the thing, I don't think an ECG will detect everything and can be misinterpreted easily. I want the full MOT on the ticker but I doubt I would get one. I think, given your family history, they would send you for cardiac stress tests on an inclined treadmill. They can also take various blood samples for cardiac enzymes and tropinine levels, which give a good indication of any heart damage.
  17. I'll add my voice to the "get it checked" brigade..... I had a heart attack at 45, having ignored chest pains on two or three occasions in the years before. My wife escorted me to the doctor and made me get a referral for tests....of course, being a bloke, I didn't go. Couple of months later, I collapsed in a heap, gripped by a pain that I will never forget as long as I live. The upshot was having stents fitted, narrowly escaping bypass surgery and a handful of tablets for the rest of my life. I'm still here (of course) but the after-effects have got worse, as I've got older....
  18. Wouldn't they be better off teaching kids to read, write, add and subtract etc ? http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2016/06/29/ofsted-criticises-primary-school-pupils-do-not-understand-impact-of-homophobia/
  19. Maybe she's Anna Hime ? (I'll get my coat !)
  20. From what I know he made his own mustard gas. He was a complete cnut but he kept the peace, same with Gadaffi etc After that horrific bomb in Baghdad the other day, I read interviews with locals, many of whom said they wished they could bring Saddam back !
  21. Q: How do we know he had weapons of mass destruction ? A: We checked the receipts !
  22. Blair and Bush set in motion a chain of events that has led us to the chaos that has engulfed a large part of the Arab world, and threatens the safety of us all, wherever we live. But, the anger I feel towards them, is dwarfed by the sadness of knowing that our fine young men and women died for nothing.......
  23. Stephen Crabb has also dropped out.....
  24. FINAL UPDATE......FINAL UPDATE...... She and I talked it over last night, and spoke to a local rescue centre this morning. They have around 25 hedgehogs in their care (all to be released) and we decided that this would be the best course of action. Their policy is to keep them awake for the first winter, feed them up and release the following spring, all fat and raring to go. Pleased to say that his weight is now 315g !! We were most concerned about him getting used to being handled and losing his natural caution. So, this afternoon, we took him over there, said goodbye and wis
