The foresters had been busy earlier in the year in some woodland on one of my permissions , what was almost impenetrable wood was now open , tons of chestnut , hazel birch etc had been cleared and new growth had already sprouted ...an open invitation to the deer to start browsing it of .Once the maize surrounding the wood had been harvested the clearfell was a good bet to produce , a temporary seat was erected in what I thought was a good spot , I could see a fair bit out to about 90mtr , obviously there where obstruction but I reckoned their should be enough clearance between the remaining tr

Just come back from a not very successful days pigeon shooting in oxford , reloading the van for tomorrows early stalking expedition to be followed by the afternoon pigeon shooting just round the corner ....sleep Thursday .. stalking Friday & Sunday ...

As said its down to your agreement , a grazing agreement doesn't usually cover you to shoot deer given you have the correct Fac etc .My wife had a similar problem a few tears back & when she spoke to the farmer he told her " if you don't like the deer move your horses somewhere else " ..helpful sort of man , but his wife liked the deer , end of ..

The other strange thing about horsey people (my wife is one ) they have no sense of smell ! God forbid I have to use her motor , especially in the summer , the smell of horse piss is like a smack in the mouth .The various bits of horse kit , blankets , rugs her coats that have all come into contact with horse piss then put in the motor , allowed to ferment for a few hours , stink the fu*kout of the car.If you ask her what the smell is(you already know) she sticks her head in , takes a sniff , then says" I cant smell anything ."...

Seems the IS have finally got what they wanted in the way of a war , how long before our resources are put in the US led coalition ?.Is this going to end with boots on the ground again . Cant think they will relish a few months of Tomahawk missiles , smart bombs , drones & every other type of exploding shite falling from a great height upon them , but will it be enough ?..

Found this one...some fantastic shooting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxQPOsDgPO4 Interesting design of arrow.... the tip looks like an egg whisk, so it obviously makes it easier to hit them....though I'd bet still not easy enough for me That's the one mate , I cant think how long that took to perfect , the lead you must give it & the way the arrow arc's to the bird is pretty impressive to watch
