  2. TC's there was a cracking thread a few years back on Merlin & Eve lines, i'm sure that would tell you all you need yo know. Some very knowlagable posters on it that aint here now. Dig it out, its very good reading. ?
  3. Only read about em in Fell Terrier and though the author gives em a decent write up. He also says they were full of kc shite and even as a kid i knew that was to be avoided.

  5. Thanks, for what she is, she's very good at the job. Very pleased with her.
  6. Ted Walsh's dogs looked of a Norfolk type too. Very similar to Ivor Lee's dogs. Darbo/anyone put up the pictures of his in L&LD's books?
  7. Yep, Aubrey Fryer used to advertise Norfolk/Smithfields in Exchange & Mart back in the day.
  8. 30 years ago a bloke in Ormskirk had one direct off Mick Douglas. Fecking beautiful thing it was and he killed enough hares with it to confirm it was a very handy dog. I first spoke to him one early morning on my way to work, as he walked the dog home, trying to hide a hare in his coat. Used to talk with John Bromley, the coursing greyhound trainer, years ago. His stud dog Issac was bred down from old Norfolk lines. It was showy as feck but he said it would kill anything edible, especially big stuff and had killed the odd fox, though they wern't his thing. He never came across as a bullsh
  9. They are this seasons 'must have' so best of luck...
  10. Shame about the Catahoula, their looks are gonna get them in a whole heap of shite with breed fanciers. Destined to become firstly a prized acquisition for stupid prices and then bred to be wonderful loving household pets... When i first seen propper American gamedogs i seen these stunning merle dogs and tried to find out all i could, with a view to lurcher production. Certain lines can have a decent drop of bull blood, black mouth curs and the Beauceron too. Some say greyhound, molosser and native indian dogs are all in the mix too... Sounds all very romantic... My own ivory towers
  11. Used my dads old pocket knife for years but now its just an Opinel. The big knife my nephew got me for Christmas and i've not used it yet. It's prob's not very good but its very comfortable in the hand.
  12. Great write up Jigsaw, enjoyed the read ?
  13. Never easy making such decisions, especially when the've done so well. Though in my limited expierience, sometimes its better to say, never say never... Betcha you'll find it tough to see his eyes and attitude when your buckling younger dogs up and leaving him behind, seeing his beat up face, full of fire for wanting to do what he'd rather do, what he was bred to do! I recon it'd be far better to limit when and where he finds his quarry and keep him both going and doing what he wants to do. Better to die with a sword in your hand than to pine away in a kennel or by a fire..
  14. Used to love that wrestling dude too... Oosh...!! ?
  15. Faaablulose darling..... ??
  16. Yep, dead right DMD, thats the answer i was looking for... ? Making mountains of of mole hills is the simplest way of saying it...
  17. On the basis that ALL of the Isle of Ireland is surrounded by water and both countries can work together on what comes in and across, then maybe i'm fecking dumb because it should be fecking simple...??
  18. I also miss the fact that Omanyara was once a fantastic poster in the Lurcher section and is one of the most expierienced folk on that subject that has ever posted on this site....
  19. Absofeckinlutely... Top posting...
