Bosun , the bounty was 35pence a tail when work was a bit tight so it was handy , who was the lad from your area, unreal the numbers at the time , thats when say on here lads had 100 a night , people wont have it , but they did on numerous occasions , but never mind , there is a surge in rabbit population this summer , we always have plenty but a lot more than normal , so will have some fun this winter lamping/ferreting . Jimmy K, the Liverpool bloke mentioned in the first Plummer book.

    My Home .

It's a place I've always fancied to visit, I can remember when there was a bounty on rabbits, early eighties i think, and a noted local lurcherman went over never to return. I get there one day.
  3. Feck me Tom, if you find it heavy to wear, who the feck wouldn't?? Plus, I wouldn't fancy having to break into a run with it on, some serious damage could be done there!! It's a fine and unusual thing though, best of luck with the sale
  4. In the main Dotty, they ain't, but there are always the odd exception and if used, can deal with anything this country has to offer. Would I take that gamble though..
  5. I'd totally agree with you points mate, your dead right IMO. Though, if anyone has (and I can see those who have..) got a decent grafter of an EBT then why not use it, like I said, mine worked like a fiend, the right type is more than capable..! And to those who's lurchers are out of this type, great, I hope your dogs work well for you, like I said I knew of a cracker, a 'genuine' dog, one i'd have loved to own.
  6. I'm changed too, I'm Amanda at the weekends  Sorry Amanda, I got you muddled up last sunday...
  7. All Terrain has for sale a 'brand new' Striker lamp and a 12v 22ah Lithium battery - £200 for both. Must be local pick up, won't post. In Liverpool. P.m. All Terrain for further details.
  8. Had a quick look on here Sunday mornin, sure I seen a post up for this show, been right through this section and done a search but can't find it... Was I right, is it on..???
  9. Now thats a very tidy dog CP, ta for sharing..
  10. Spike was out of Pye to his litter sister Otter, First cross to first cross.
  11. Thats a very tidy whippet, looks well. Though it won't get far after that bunny with its lead on. Cracking shot of the kits too.
  12. The one cross I always wanted Simo Back in the late 's I owned a 'genuine' working EBT, tall & rangy, this dog really could graft and though I tried putting him to both Greyhounds and Lurchers, it never happend. The big dumb b*****d was just that, when he came to stud, a big dumb b*****d! There was a dog of this breeding in the early 90's called Mickey, from Leigh, who had a hell of a reputation, i've been out with some of his offspring and all were very good, took one out on trial once, but it made a right mess of a good and very timid bitch I had in the back of the motor and it we
  13. A 'well bred' Saluki hybrid (my next dog). A 'real' bushing mutt (this could come before the Saluki). A Catahoula Lepard Dog (for no particlular reason, other than i've never seen one in the flesh). If I do my 'homework' the first two should be sound investments, I really don't have any need (or see any sense) in owning a dog I can't use constantly. The third, because I needed a third for this post!
  14. Oh Lordie, only SS could find a pic of 'The Perpitraitor' an bang it up as my lookalike... Mind you, on that day maybe their was a resembalance ('Ol Purp' is locked safe away courtesy of Her Majesty, in Altcourse, thank god!) I don't look to clever in them pics do I, face like a beetroot, unable to tuck me shirt in as it was stuck fast and the worst case of 'Betty Swallocks' in living memory..!! PMSL SS you'd better watch yerself, dont you know Akis mums a barrister !! anyway where'd you get his pic from wait till he turns up at ss house with a big tape measure

  18. that the moggy i met bosun? and as far as fox dogs go iv yet to see one that really stands out Yes mate it is I count myself lucky to have seen some serious animals over the years, Floyd was the best by far, but Oscar ran a good second.
  19. Had the full rig out, purple fred perry, levi red tags from crazy house at the Trongate Mr Davids for everthing else All on the good old Provy cheque,Cause I had wee feet had to settle for Major Domos,me thinking I was the next Joe Hawkins an all. Now that is a blast from the past, i'd long forgotten 'em, monkey boots and spooneys too. Bermo's and three star jumpers...
  20. Didn't know there was a 'miniature' fox terrier, just fox terriers..?? Anyways, i'd agree with CG, you'll never know till you have a go (no ryme intended!), may as well try the fecking lot, from earth work to rabbiting, though i'd betcha it'll do very well with rats, one of the best ratters i've ever seen was a fox terrier, a demon to 'em.
  21. The best fox dog i've ever seen was a Liverpool dog called Floyd, running for a good number of years with a very keen & expierienced owner, this dog was well into 4 figures.
  22. You can buy a rice cooker for about a tenner, they are just about the simpelest things you could use, simply measure the water to the rice and push the 'on' button. Perfect rice every time, mines lasted about 15 years and still goin strong. For chilli, add chopped onion and saffron for flavor and colour. For a curry, saffron, turmeric and ground corriander.
  23. Nobody knows what a bull cross looks like.... "Come on, lets see your bull crosses"..!!!! (Can also be substituted for Saluki, collie, bedlington etc..!!!)
