  1. That's what I have been told too Task. Thing is though, as that time, I could never understand as to why someone would use Spartacus when there were dogs direct out of Smithy about and if Smithy was as good as a producer as we these days, as back then, take him for, then surely a heavily grafted dog out of him would always be the better choice...
  2. You know what mate, I don't think that'll happen but for those that do I will do my homework...
  3. No mate, not for me but if anyone wants to, be my guest. As i said, I would love to see the blood continue.
  4. My old half cross is just about done now, both wrists have gone, one eye, most teeth and had spinal trauma in the past. He's a big 'ol lump and those wrists are simply struggling to keep him going. I don't think he'll see next winter. He's as close to the original dog as I could produce and he's never sired a litter BUT (and I'm sticking my neck out here!) if there was a genuine someone with a genuine bitch out of this line, he'd be free to use and I don't want a pup. He's the last of near twenty years of effort, it'd be a shame to see it all go down the pan.
  5. Bradus do you mean 12 months, Pike is only about 6 himself and do you also mean fawn, as in the colour. Blacks and fawns have always been predominant in this lot, I'm racking my brain to think of a brindle or sommat else...
  6. When the first 'spread map' went up I must have been looking at my screen like... Thinking where did they get to such numbers in the North west? Thank feck it was the Reds, that much I do know. As for the munty map, well just as I thought. I've spoke to a few locals who say they are here, including a bloke from our 'local' Forestry Commission BUT them uni geeks don't know shit from shinola and the locals wouldn't know a munty from a big brown hare, so i'm not convinced. The last time I seen one was years ago, pre ban on those crazy, long hauls down and around Oxfordshire. Where we'd see
  7. Good to have you on board Stu, enjoy the forum.
  8. Can't be any worse that the industrial smog that used to hand over our city's in the 60's. Older generations talk about real pea-soupers and well lived and worked through that... Media clap-trap this is, no more no less!
  9. Nope, me either. As you say, loads of Lappys and Curlew, the field in front of mine is chock full every year. We had a GS Woodpecker here last year, knocking feck out of the electric pylon (wood) last year, it'd be nice to see him again and our resident Spa will be getting herself ready to give our flock of hedge sparrows a bit of stick come nesting. Though my fave birdy thing last summer... Hearing that shrill call and looking up to see two or three Buzzard specks circling high in a blue, blue sky and not a cloud in sight, now there's summer for ya..! I don't think they would be a flo
  10. Did you learn or did someone put 'em up for ya??? Bloody good pics too.
  11. Re-opened by request, If you are to complete the survey, please do it sensibly.
  12. to be honest i like all x's of running dogs but can't see any point in 1/2 cross bull/grey.i have seen a few,but they need another dog to catch it. You ain't got a fecking igloo, ain't ya, Ted....

  15. Maybe if all this generation of hunters donated, our genes may spread and influence and secure hunting for future generations.
  16. That's no money for such a quality tool. Very nice Riohog.
  17. You just looked that up after watching Loose Women this afternoon, the timing is a dead giveaway! As for me, i've been on the donation list for years. Give blood too. If bits of me can save a life, fantastic!
  18. But everybody loves smoky bacon....... I don't...
