  1. Only ever seen one Doberman that was anything else but a big stiff legged gassy shithouse, that one was a German import and was a far cry from anything i've seen here. I see one every morning on my way to work. As a youngster it was easy to mistake it for a black and tan coursing dog, tail up, free flowing, graceful. Now in about its third year it's back end and movement are stiff as feck and it has a slight roll when walking. This has been the case for almost all of this breed i've seen over the years. Lets not kid ourselves, they have been around a long time and had a boom in the lat
  2. Not that I know that much about retrievers but i've never seen nor heard of a Goldie or a Curly in the field, anyone correct me..?
  3. always liked her, was she a 1x bull x grey or any thing else in there paul, nice stamp of dog either way Line bred first cross Ray, nowt else in there. She was the dam of the old dog I have now.
  4. I wouldn't exactly call this old bitch 'light' ( ) but it was surprising how much gear she put away.

  6. Shaped same as this but as old as that other. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SCHRADE-OLD-TIMER-SHARPFINGER-KNIFE-152OTBC-BLACK-CAMO-152OT-/200910718275?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ec7364543
  7. Very similar Bob, mines more of a skinner though, more curve on the blade. I bought it as a kid, 35 years ago!
  8. Lot of the old boys swear by the greyhound as the sire rather than the dam.
  9. I like that Bob, ticks all my boxes, Damascus, horn handle and ok sheath and at that price well worth a go IMO. I have a Shrade (spelling) old timer here of a similar shape and I ground down the top edge, works well, though that thing looks too nice to be doing that too.
  10. That half cross I put up a few posts back, when he got that collar he'd already lost an eye. He's since lost a lot of his teeth, suffered spinal damage, facial injurys, will still split the tightest bramble and any cover, now with wrist problems he goes 'over' full tilt almost daily, he really is a fecking state and he won't see next winter.... But I'm really pleased to say, the collar is doing great and will see right any number of numb f**k ups like this dog....!!
  11. A fleeing midget A naked nutter waiving swords Couple of suicidal idiots And a dead body.... Oh yer and the best of all, a very nice Gamekeeper accompanied by equally nice police officers... Honest..!! Note to self.... Change yer lamping spots...!
  12. I'd offer it back, let him see it, i'd betcha if the damage is/was done through work you'd be recompensed or renewed...
  13. Few years later... Same dog, different collar..
  14. The lurcher collars..?? He's on about the 2" 5 ply I'm sure. I got a 2 inch collar from strong stuff. Well made collar can't complain about craftsmanship and gear on collar and not moaning bout price. But I agree with Morton put it on a 25 tts bull x Lurcher and looked like it was for something out of Appleby. Gave the collar down to my father for his bull. Give it's due it looks good on that. But Fook me would need dog bout 30tts and a tank for look right on running dog Then get yourself a bigger bull cross...

  16. I've edited your post wolfy old boy, good to see you posting...
  17. Those dogs off that pets for homes link, look like the biggest pile of commercial peddled shite i've seen in a while and i'd like to be proved wrong?
  18. Anyone who thinks Strong Stuff's lurcher collars are too much for a running dog ain't never seen one! They'll look right on the sleekest Saluki cross and come tiny enough for micro whippets. He made 'em right, to fit, after comments about his heavier collars on running dogs. I have a prototype here, from when SS first made 'em, it's been on my half cross ever since, day in day out, never washed, unless he goes for a rare dip and looks better with age.... The plan is to keep this collar with the same programme and see how many lurchers it gets through in its life... An i'm betting it'll
  19. Oh yerrr.... Nuff done on here on this cross, few could cope with a real one... Me included..!!
  20. Yep, KD it's all about lookin tough but the real difference is, that big ugly scared up bull cross, gets out, has a life, is worked... Yard dogs are, to me, a fecking waist of space, no matter how good they may be at the job, of any breed. Just one trick pony's that will, by most hands, endure a shite life... Why take that out when you've got ya big scarred up bull and your terriers that work, take 'em separate maybe, how much time, vet bills etc it all adds up... I repeat, for the vast majority on here... They are five minute wonders, the novelty of your yard loon will soon wear off,
  21. Don't know what that statement means TBH... Either I see genuine effort, or I don't.... And I don't think thats difficult for anyone..??
