  1. Not 'the' Plummer, thought he'd shuffled off this mortal coil...
  2. Never seen a 3/4 i'd take home..... 5/8ths, on paper, should be the bollox BUT.... So for me, the half cross, is and always will be, the daddy.... (mind which half cross you get though!)
  3. Out of that lot I just looked at 'Top Female Wrestlers', why the feck would I want to look at some ugly fecker trying to catch rabbits...
  4. your probably right but to say they are all cross up bull blood isn't right I totally agree with you Glyn, not all, by any means... That's how I started my posts on here but we can never deny the fact that there are many lines with direct bull blood, both near and far back and lets be honest here, not all of that blood has done any good to dogs that work underground. Those lines may look the part but in success rate terms they may really be lacking. People really need to realise that form should ALWAYS follow function...
  5. Turk, they are all fecking crap, get yerself a 'propper' lurcher...
  6. Glyn, I honestly think the true history of those black dogs will never be told.... Not now anyways.... HM, yep, seen that Bradleys Rip, if thats not out of bull stock i'll show me arse in Lewis's window!! Some Borders of about the same time...
  7. Axle and swivel, swivel, swivel..... Ya just can't swivel enough...!!!!
  8. Feck me, I thought i'm pretty crap at the who's who game on the tinterweb but i've been around long enough to know who Gallagher is... Personally, I think, I sorta like that article, for all its faults, rants and bias. Makes me smile... I can plainly see it was (and it was a long time ago) done to provoke and sometimes, some things like that sort of click, to some... He's simply selling the Saluki cross by also slagging the collie cross, so what? His thoughts and, on many of his points, he's got a point (or two)... Might have gone all gung ho and arse ways about it with a
  9. And all the better for being hunting related..!!
  10. I've owned two dogs like that Phil, one lurcher and a terrier, once sommat was stone dead, usually by their own gobs, they'd look and act almost petrified of it..!
  11. And your post reminds me of a bloke my old man knew FM, dark of skin and mysterious too, Brown Bill everyone called him. Horse and black dog that looked like a racy Malenois and as constant 'head patters' we were always told to give it a wide berth! Funny but in a world of Big Fat Gypsy Stuff, you just don't see the dark people anymore..?
  12. Not and never will be a fisherman. Especially all that carp stuff. Anyways, might have a ride to the comp, simply to say hello but reading back, am I right to read that some folk are wanting to take dogs.... What the feck for....????
  13. its hard to get small ones today, they sound like very handy ones to have around, always prefered the smaller type myslef. atb, j Bosun11, This was the type I remember in Southern Ireland back in the 70's. The skinhead culture was not as evident as in the UK but there were pockets in the cities. These small staffs were everywhere at that time, some older Staff breeders must know where they came from. Mostly a dark red colouring with black muzzles if I remember correctly. First Staffs registered in the US.jpg The Stafford bitch on the right is similar in build, small, ligh
  14. My old half cross is nesh as feck in bad weather. You'd look at it as the hardest looking mutt ever but I just see a wind and rain soaked big girls blouse!
  15. This is gonna be the tip of the iceberg... The money Blair earns now is sealing the deal. Career politicians kids.... All gonna be big earners, just like daddy.
  16. Exactly lamping especially in a 4x4 is not about giving the quarry a sporting chance, it's all about the catching. So what...? When I run rabbits, I don't say 'great run, good rabbit, deserved to get away that one', do I feck, it ain't the Waterloo Cup! I run rabbits to catch them, not piss 'em off...!! Lamping, by its very nature, is done to catch gear. When your talking 'sporting chance' whats the difference between a 4x4 and the million plus dazzler, half blinding and confusing the quarry. Saying 4x4 lamping is unsporting, is like saying lamps and nets are too.
  17. It could be a diaphragm problem but it could well be a rib problem too. No ones really gonna be able to give a diagnosis or tell you the answers on here, get the dog to a good vet and go from there.
  18. Craig Nutttall's Jack.... Do they?
  19. its hard to get small ones today, they sound like very handy ones to have around, always prefered the smaller type myslef. atb, j That should read... JRT's 'taller'....
  20. Jetro, 15" and smaller sometimes, mates had JRT's bigger BUT these feckers had massive heads and we never weighed 'em!
  21. Oh yer, forgot to add... I never went for one of those 'Staff's'. By the time i'd bred enough rabbits and ferrets to buy one (50p a pop, so took me a while!) an you can only breed so many in a house with a back yard, i'd seen enough and so, charged with visions of Olly Ried's, Bill Sykes I went and got meself an EBT..! Again though, a bloke local bred EBT's a showman, KC stuff... BUT every so often he'd breed a litter of small 'un's, with some almost deformed enough to have bent fronts, slim lines and massive heads, just like the local Staff's. Before I go on here, let me add.... As a kid,
  22. As an admirer of the EBT (bull terrier) as I owned and worked one as a kid, it's contribution to working terriers has got to be limited to say the least.... And whilst I find stuff on James Hinks and his breeding programme fascinating, he bred for both the coin and the show bench, other than the 'history', he's a lost leader IMO, we need to be taking Stafford (type) blood here. So that post by p3d, for me, hit home. Because in my city, in the early 80's, there was the start of the bull terrier boom, the first wave, so to speak. In my early teens, it was The Jam, flight jackets, Air Wear,
