  1. Yes mate, Hardy plays his part well. He's right up there with the best imo. Looks the part and can act it out
  2. Well played that kid. A lifetime if pitting your wits against these pests awaits...
  3. Looking forward to watching this one. My type of film...
  4. Lovely pup Tony, get some more up, lets see how their doing Edited to add, lovely pup, awful drink...
  5. Agreed, though I planted loads from seed I only got 4 plants. Two inside, two outside. Though I do believe the peat free compost I used played it's part. Tougher varieties like the Roma & Rio Grande were fine, and I had a glut of seedlings.
  6. My greenhouse Tom's are doing OK so far, though I've had to pinch off some early flowers to gain the hight. Got 8 inside, in buckets, with a couple of cucumbers and chillies. Pots of corriander on the floor, and the buckets contain marigolds and infant basil. The toms in pots i'm holding for a mate who's working away. I've also got another 11 Tom's outside, south-facing. The varieties are, Sungold, Alicante, Rio Grande & Roma
  7. Cheers Arry, I'll give that a go. An old boy told me to paint it on years ago, but it was always too liquid and dripped. Wallpaper paste sounds just the ticket. Thanks
  8. Same with me John, it's on one side of my garden, in the border and under the flags. In 16 years I've never gotten shut, but I can keep it back by pulling it as soon as I see it. On the other side of the garden I have bindweed, which is also a massive pain, but by keeping an eye out daily, that's also under control
  9. Loving Mobland at the minute. Now Brosnan & Mirren have been slated for their Irish accents, especially as Brosnan 'is' Irish, but I overcame it but thinking of their characters as living in London most of their life and their accents have morphed... So far, so good 8/10 Anyways, I'm enjoying it much more than This City Is Ours, which was overhyped in this city, but the characters never looked convincing as real gangsters, most of em (especially the son) looked like they couldn't punch their way through a wet newspaper, nevermind hardened criminals. The storyline was too loose also. D
  10. A massive shock, only read this today. Met Phil a number of times and he was one of this country's leading dogmen. Deepest condolences to Rose and family
  11. So he's a 'Border throwback', nowt wrong with that..! He's a cracker, I always have an eye for a working Border (type)
  12. Some fine animals on this thread, good to see...
  13. Very true Gnash, Everton have been exactly the same over the years. Hanging on to 'player sentimentality' when there's feck all in the trophy cabinet, that mentality has to go.... We've got more contracts up at the end of the season than any other Prem club, time to change the attitude as we change the stadium. Sentiment plays little part in success...
  14. We did OK yesterday... UTFT

    Rats/hens

Couple of years back I got a call from a woman who runs a smallholding not far from me. She said she had a rat problem, and could I come and help. I went for a look without the dogs first. It was just a couple of fields with tatty sheds, one for stableing horses and the other that kept a few hens and one to make a brew etc. They were right next to a lovely, sand bottomed brook, that was honeycombed with rat holes. I offered to give the pace a go ( i'd be a fool not too) but the best bit was when she said 'watch this' and pulled out a bag of grain and started filling up the chicken feeders
  16. Brian to a Cocker, planned or not, has gotta be well worth a punt. Gutted I'm not in the market....
  17. The irony is that the three people who have told me there's Muntjac here, are usually sources to be trusted, in every other land management question there is... And yet I've seen nothing but Roe around this area. No matter how often I've been out, day and night. I even took to walking without a dog for a few nights to see if it made any difference. Though all it did was boil my piss for the cracking runs i missed...
  18. 'Officially' I hear they are now around where I live (NW), but I, nor anyone I know, have ever seen one. Though it is possible, as the Roe only decided to make an appearance 15 years ago, dispite having a quiet life for decades. Now they are getting to be a pain, with so many roads about. If Muntjac do eventually make an appearance, then right now, I run a mutt that just might do a decent job on them. But until they do 'burst from cover' it's gotta be local Roe...
  19. What a fantastic clip of a serious animal. That's some run. Love watching that dogs gears, from a turn to the straight and even through the farm, where it knows what's underfoot, class that... Though please edit that clip to omit the cnut who ain't dressed for the weather ( whilst slipping a dog in it) and the 8 Mile bullshit soundtrack, which I know is relevant to you kids, but will date a clip, and alienate people from watching it in later years... Just saying like Some feckin dog though...
  20. haha, will you take a cheque, all out of cash.. All good mate, still drop in on occasion, hope your good too?
  21. Oop's... Is there a funny knock, or a rolled up trouser leg to pertrud or something...?
  22. Dogs for jobs... Better find that cross plenty to do, they like big stuff, and don't take to rotting in kennels....
