  1. Good call, very much like the pic of 1 of Tysons in The fell terrier In my teens i seen a few of his dogs, met the man too. That dog looks very similar to the dogs in Cyril's yard and the terriers that came to Liverpool directly off him.
  2. If i didn't see it, i'd never write the dog off. I'd get it one on the lamp and see how it shaped up.
  3. Nice stamp of terrier that, if i was gonna take a punt, i'd say it had a connection to Cyril Tyson and his dogs.
  4. Red coloured light can be seen from the furthest away by the human eye , this is why traffic lights and other warning lights are red ... I've always prefered a blue filter when out lamping and when using one I never take it off the actual beam people are talking about. And I doubt you would pick out a red reflector over a white one mate, for a start the lumen power is a lot less. Also I thought the army used red because it's the light that is seen the least. Nope red is the easiest to see .. Its all to do with wavelengths of the colours , I'm sure reds used by the army cause it doesn't mess
  5. My integrity would mean a bit more than a thirty quid book... And i'm only a tuppence ha'penny Scouser.
  6. Well played... I went out last night local, seen three, ran three, caught feck all... Bugger!
  7. I agree with the taking off an on bit. TBH the only good filters, that have ever been made for the lurcher lamper, were/are the Cluelight flip or slide filters. I liked the slide one, split second off, split second back on. Totally silent and you could never drop and loose them. Fantastic bit of kit, just a shame the lamps wern't up to the job or i'd have never gone with Lightforce and them awkward, noisey horrible 3 clip filters that need modification and are still shite!
  8. Dock diving looks fun but it aint nothing nwe, one of the best photos i ever seen of a lurcher was Lloydy's Speckle doin a bit of 'unlicenced' dock diving... Specktacular!!
  9. Bit of a shakey start but this thred is now goin great guns, keep it up people..!
  10. Another reason i started using filters back in the day was that they aint as obvious as white when scanning hot spots. It simply doesn't cast as far and i'd rather only use the white to run stuff.
  11. I've been using them from the off Dai, a lamps too bright without one! In a lot of places filtered light is a must, because critters are too spooked without colour. Though dont get me wrong, once they know what filtered light is, they are on to it same as white light. One thing i've never done is run my quarry with the filter still on, though it seems a lot of people do...! Me an my dog are out there to catch quarry, it aint the Waterloo Cup out there, so i'm gonna give that dog every chance i can and dazzle the feck out of whatever i'm gonna run.
  12. Apart from Paul Evans, working dog Vets are conspicus by their absence... Are there any out there..???
  13. Ya know, the bottom line is that if we didn't give little twerps like him the ammo, all over the internet, they'd never work it out for themselves...
  14. That first dog reminds me of a Park dog my mate had in the 80's.Crackin photos btw.
  15. Surprised at some of the responses on a hunting website but hey ho...!
  16. The local pet shop's got a skunk. Says they go for 350 to 500. Tamest most playful thing you'll find, like a big fancy ferret.
  17. Honerable obituary to a loyal friend.
  18. Yet again the famous coursing ground Altcar Estate, home to the Waterloo Cup, is under thret from the developers, they plan to instal 12 wind turbines, at a height of 136.5m, all over both the Withens and Lydiate fields. Following the death of Lord Leverhulme and the demise of coursing, a business syndicate has taken over the running of the estate and plan to ruin the coursing history there forever! Personally i feel its another hunting travesty and if you are like me and spent some glorious years watching the blue ribband of coursing, or you just feel like hunting history gets shafted
  19. Then listen to his first album again and try to imagine where that young, raw, wild rock and roll voice and atitude could have gone if it was managed right. His peers knew it, the industry knows it, Elvis was 'that good' but the world and his management were naive in what could have been... That was hes first album Bosun. Then that was that. To me I hated hes harmonious love songs and spill. I hated the beatles as well. But I tell you not, you can't beat the who That song wasn't on his debut album mate. Google it and if you get the chance listen to it all... And i'm as big a W
