  1. Gnipper, a mate of mine in Litherland is doing tripe and mince. Thats where i was going to send Proud Scouse but he's a bit far...! I've always used Kev but he only does chicken & beef, though he's very good and does more than mince. If ye need any info drop me a pm.
  2. Give Tim McGraw and Gwynneth Paltro a listen. Love that track.
  3. Where abouts in the city are you, i may be able to help?
  4. Was out Thursday with mine, very impressed too.
  5. Seen him showing at my only visit to crufts, spoiled my trip...
  6. If ya already got your whippet then dont worry yourself with lurchers, you need to put all your effort into that pup, no matter where it comes from. Do that and you'll do alright with it. Never worked a pure bred whippet myself but on here there are plenty that have or do now. Take your time, work through the forum and read from lads that really 'walk the walk' with whippets and do some serious work with them. By doing that, folk will get a feel for you and answers get ever better.
  7. Proud Scouse, i suggest you take the time to do your homework and read a lot on here, thats yhe best way to learn....
  8. New to this game... Then please don't go any further than that post with this cross... honest!
  9. Thank you MM Now, if any younger members on here aint heard this classic, covered by everyone from Smokey Robinson to R.E.M. get on it, and loose yourself...
  10. Sweet baby Jesus an the orphans...! Near forgot my favorite, Whichita Lineman Put it up someone pleeeease!!!
  11. Some cnut from Preston songs... Grew up with Patsy Cline, Guy Mitchell and a smattering of Marty Robbins. Love Deno singing My Rifle My Pony And Me in Rio Bravo. Love a bit of Dolly too, she's a fecking legend (with titanic tits!) Guy Mitchell, Johnny Cash, Willy Nelson, John Denver is class as is Glen Campbell, to name but a few! As country went modern, there's a few songs (an with modern country i enjoy songs rather than artists) i enjoy cross-over songs when they mix with other genres. Never got Garth but that Tim McGraw fella seems ok. Love that track with Gwineth Paltrow that w
  12. Ratting shouldn't make a lurcher hard mouthed unless it was started (entered) on them. Some lurchers make bloody good ratters but if they are green to the game it can play merry hell with toes and stoppers around a farm yard. Lets face it, they just aint as robust as terriers for this game and they can get put out of action. So it would all depend on risk assessment and damage limitation but then i think you know the score already...
  13. I'm i right in thinking you wash the dog down, as in its body and head, because the fox looked mangey?
  14. I should have said working dog man! The type of judge clubs should seek are those who are known to work their own dogs and would try to seek out and place workers (as they are seen to be..)Its a difficult and often unpleasant task, most judges would probably tell you that they usually have chosen their top three the minute they step in the ring, because there ain't no exact formular to this, its simply personal choice and should always be seen as that BUT lets be dead honest, if that judge is a working dog man, the chances of those three being working dogs rises significantly.
  15. I enjoy a day out at a show, for the same reasons others do. Thing is, i live in a part of the world that has a number of good working dog shows, run by clubs that activley seek out working judges wherever possible BUT the difficulty is always FINDING those judges because they are few and far between! I have a photo somewhere of me and Treehands jumping into the breech to judge because we were let down at the last minute, it should never happen but sadly it does. Thankfully we did a fair old job that day lol. If working dog clubs are going to run sound working dog shows, then working dog
  16. Trenchy, them dogs are a fecking disgrace and you want reporting for neglect. Get them out fella an let them do a bit...!!
  17. More lurchers get passed from pillar to post than any other dog. Dogs homes are choc-full of em. Every other dog walked round here is a lurcher, usually overweight and stuck in a pissing harness (they should be banned!) the owner with no control, the dog with no chance of ever getting off that lead and doing what it was bred for. To me its always a very sad sight. I just wish people would think before they breed...!!
  18. Agree with Taz, crackin stamp of terrier.
  19. Used to know a few lads who loved mackrel bashing. Used to give loads to the dogs (an ferrets), raw and whole, they looked bloody good on em.
  20. Stabba, i also wish your mum well. I know first hand how difficult it can be. Fair play to ya Rex for securing a sound working home for the dog.
  21. Those bolts in the link may be a bit bulky but i agree, it would be good to fit a lanyard.
  22. Would that be because of demand or titheads, maybe both...? Whatever the reason it's another blow to working dog health. We are slowley being squeezed into thise anti ridden, rip off merchants called high-street Vet's...!!
  23. Dunlop Purofort Jiggy, them big Herman Munster ones. Get a pair of welly socks too. Warm as feck, very comfy and they eat thick briars for breakfast. They are the fecking nuts for serious bramble bashing!!
