  1. Yep, i'm all for them all being in the same ring. The only things that should change the class are height and coat type but i can see past these also.
  2. ALL bull crosses ARE lurchers! No different to collie, saluki, deerhound and good ol Heinz 57 crosses.
  3. I think the divide between work and show dogs will be wider in the future Jerry. Because of mass backyard breeding, dog shelters are chock full of em and they are now hugely popular with your weekend warriors, harness on dog and hunter wellies on feet, all out in the countryside for the weekend. These poor mutts will never see work, probably never let out of that harness and i believe it'll be these dogs that will be shown and bred from. Though i do believe that workers will always remain and improve over the coming decades. Working dog folk are using improved technologies to communica
  4. I meant 'line' as that is how they are advertised FODR. As apart from in print, i only know rumours about em. No lads i know have ever owned one and I have never seen one run.
  5. Lurchers... Thank feck for that post because all i've ever heard is negative and so the scepticism. I'd be genuinly grateful to find out more about the dog, as i have a real interest in old lines and this line states its one of the oldest, if you would..?
  6. I like this but how would a retard like me make that a on/off easy filter?
  7. No no no no no no no no no... I could go on...
  8. How many you seen run, not to find fault mate?
  9. Pisses the bed... Feck me, nearly forgot about that one! My first ever lurcher was an expert at this trick. We (kids) leave back door open, whippet lurcher makes a wild eyed, excited dash upstairs. Jumps on parents bed, gets even more excited and pisses all over it! The nasty act usually found late at night by mothers hysterical screams, followed by fathers death threts. Once in a while she (the dog!) was caught in the act and a lurchers true calling of twisting and turning at speed was seen in all its magnificent glory as it negotiated feet and fists from the bedroom to the street by a cra
  10. Maybe about 15 or so years ago i seen a litter of dogs that had both Ridgeback and bull blood. They were very good but its not an experiment i'd be in a rush to replicate.
  11. Aww think about it fellas, only in some places will preditation wipe out rabbit populations and even if it does you could bet ya bottom dollar that it'd bounce right back when the hunters left it be. Myxi has been around since the 50's and probably long before and us hunters were taking massive numbers out of specks that get a wipe out every few years.. They always bounce right back! My own best gaff got myxi every few years and the catch numbers would drop by 3/4 bags for a few months then climb back up. Even at its best the Rangers on there were shooting 200 plus per night an never put a d
  12. Phil, the man to drop a pm to would be Lucky off here. He knows more about Scoobies than anyone and a very helpful chap too.
  13. 3 to 4 good meals a day. Best grub you can get!
  14. Them sly, skinny gypo dogs Jerry, them that tries to catch yer yer dinner. Robbin b*****ds they are an'all, i had one that could open the feckin fridge!!
  15. So it must of disabled itself then on at least 2 alias's and both without warning, next you'll be saying nobody can read our pm's, a wise lad told me when I first joined that never to put in a pm anything that you don't want the mods to hear, that now appears the case, Plucky You jump to whatever conclusions you want to Plucky but there are more eyes than mine watching your posts.
  16. You ever tried a red LED head torch bosun? I got one last season and it's a real useful bit of kit for the things you mention. Plus saves battery on main lamp. I might try one Gaz, not heard a bad word said about em but i suppose i'm just old fashioned and used to a filter. The lamp i got off Dai is great but it still feels 'wrong' not attached to a wire, nor carrying a battery over my shoulder! I know i'm set in my ways and slow to change!
  17. Thing is for me, after using a filter for as long as i can remember, using white constant, all night, just seems far too..'loud'! All i want a filter for is general flicking on of the beam, wire, ditches, gaps in hedges etc. All of which i'd normally do, if i do need a light, with either the filter, the dimmer or both. The lamp i got off Dai is a cracking piece of kit by the way.
  18. I know King but a lamp's too bright without one mate...
  19. Dai, you said it would be possible to get a filter. Could you source one or point me in the right direction please?
  20. Don't flatter yourself Plucky, i've never once checked your IP, nor have i ever stopped you from logging in to your account, as i told your friend who pm'd me. Whats that old saying, give em enough rope...
  21. Octopus would be no problem, live or dead, nor would almost any seafood or insect, though i'd give the rat a wide berth, i hate those mangy orrible feckers.
  22. Get it right you woolybacks, shandy drinkers and heathens in general... It's Scouse or Lobscouse to use its full title and dumplings are dough boys (as me nan used to call em).
  23. Who would win in a fight though, Bruce or Lennie Maclean..??
