  1. You’re right about the shit eley boxes. CCI boxes are so much better. Also, it’s true that the hmr is bad news for the rabbits. It’s just that, if you reload, the hornet is better, and can be at least as cheap to run. They both cause a lot of damage on body shots if you intend to eat what you shoot though. .22 hornet will absolutely mash them with body shots.
  2. I reckon you’ve mentioned it before Nathan. Good shooting fella.
  3. Nice shop, I’ve called in many times. Packed with stock. Will be interesting to find out how you get on. Are the Eleys 40grain green box or the new 38grain bullets? Regarding hmr, consider .22 hornet. PPU hornet ammo is hardly any more expensive than hmr and you can use the cases again to reload. As a result, my hmr doesn’t get much use now as the hornet does most of what the hmr does and does it better. Hmr is still preferable in a few situations though, but not many for me.
  4. I have a .20 cal theoben and shot lots of vermin with it. Had it about 25 years now.
  5. I can’t believe that the rws subs don’t hit hard enough to knock the rabbits down. Some people even shoot them with air rifles don’t ya know. An air rifle pellet only has a fraction of the strike energy of a rimfire bullet. You state that they’re accurate, hit the rabbits in the right place and they’ll be dead. I used to use eley club solid round nose, not hollow point, and head shot rabbits were dead. They were accurate, that’s what matters. Any .22 rimfire bullet has more than enough hitting power to dispatch any rabbit with good shot placement.
  6. That’s a good result fella. Is it an FAC rapid or 12ft lbs?
  7. RWS are worth a try, I find the accurate and consistent. A little slower than some, but also quieter than most subs.
  8. Good shooting, and not frightened of getting your rifle wet...well done.
  9. Nice one Nathan. What load did you use for the squirrel?
  10. Well done mr. Good shooting
  11. Well done mr. Is that a Gamo?
  12. True, big shot doesn’t like tight choke, blows the pattern.
  13. I get plenty of pass through with .22 rimfire but it still kills ‘em alright. I’ve not found any .22 bullets still in the rabbits head or neck at any distance. Haven’t found many rabbits heads when head shot with .22 centrefire ballistic tips either, and that’s passed through alright,lol...
  14. As a matter of interest Mark, how would your FWB’s compare to these results?
  15. Well done for getting out in the crap weather.
  16. Well done trapliner, a good session on the squirrels fella
