  1. Are they the Alphamax carts Nathan, or Hymax?
  2. ‘Cracking’ stuff Nathan. I like the sound of .22 hv’s , and the smell of Eley prime ? does that make me crazy???? or is it normality?
  3. Rat a tat tat, dirty rat....?????
  4. Yes, sk’s are good. I’ve found them to be very accurate and consistent.
  5. Nothing wrong with them Stavross, that’s a cracking purchase. Hmr works for me in some situations, it’s just that I find the hornet will do it better, mostly, but not always. The hmr can be ideal sometimes.
  6. I have hmr but hardly ever use it.when it goes I won’t have another. Never been enamoured with it, but it works for me in some situations. .22 hornet does all hmr does, but better. Much better imo.
  7. If it’s new it will probably be full. The 20’s are multi choke but come fitted with a full choke tube if it’s a hushpower as far as I’m aware. Mine is full choke, bought new. I don’t have any other chokes for it.
  8. I wish I still had my old blue streak, but I don’t miss charging it. All that effort for one shot. My sharp ace too, good to shoot, but all that pumping makes me break into a sweat ? just thinking ? about it now,lol.....?
  9. The Eleys are 5’s and 6’s, Hull subsonic 20 are 7:1/2 which I use on squirrels where I need to be as quiet as possible due to nearby houses. edit to add that only the fibre wad hi-flyers are subsonic, plastic wad are faster.
  10. Indeed, Eley hi-flyer 20 bore are subsonic (just). 28gram and are very quiet and very effective. Even quieter are Hull subsonic 20, they’re 23 gram, good, but don’t hit like the hi-flyers. I’d recommend you try the Eleys, I’m sure you’ll be happy with them in a hushpower.
  11. Good shooting fella. Is it single shot or pump action hushpower? I find eley fourlongs to be very quiet. I use #7 shot. They’re fine close in, but struggle to hit very hard at much over 20 yards for me. My .410 has no choke though, so that might be it? I’m thinking about a Yildiz hushpower when they’re available again, but might get a Mossberg for the extra shots, not sure. I have the Mossberg hushpower in 20 and it’s great, but I know that the .410 version is smaller and lighter to carry around. I’m interested in anybody’s opinions on it though.
  12. Good work, good sport, good result. Well done...
  13. Nice one Jonny, I fitted an extra set back trigger on my 99s and it feels much better in shape and position than the original. Having big fingers does have its advantages however...?
  14. Found my first blackbirds nest of 2018 this morning.
  15. Shot this drey out only expecting the one. Shame for the little ‘uns, but it’s pest control so they’ve got to go.
  16. Too right Nathan, so many people saying .22 hv’s are crap, not accurate. Load of crap. If you find some that suit your rifle, they work, just like subs. They either work well in your rifle or they don’t. Just needs time to try some different brands. Where did you get the Eleys Nathan, so I might purchase some if my travels take me near the same emporium? Good shooting too.
  17. Recently bought one myself, great rifles.
