  1. When they don't want to go out. Always something an old dog can turn its hand to.
  2. Worming tablets will dissolve within a couple of hours, but if the dog is sick it would bring up the contents of its stomach. Therefor missing the dogs intestines, where most parasitic worms make there living. As said I would leave it a day or so and worm again.
  3. For the price of a worming tablet, I'd do it again.
  4. Yep Panasonic ones. They come unbranded green in colour, got some from the boot sale 3400mah for £7.50. Payed £10 each off ebay.
  5. Fine looking pups with a fine price, surely you can afford the fiver to advertise them in the correct place?
  6. "would be willing to pay the favour anyway I could"
  7. Dogs always show signs of jealousy between any pack member, as you have just said you're pushing him out why wouldn't he become jealous. I've always involved my dogs in the family, giving them no reason to be jealous. In fact I would make extra fuss of them so that they still feel wanted, not put in the yard when the boy's about, that will really feck him off. It's always hard to pass comment in this situation, none of us know the dog, it could be proper nasty and then I would certainly take him out back to meet his maker.
  8. The dog is only showing signs of jealousy, it hasn't actually shown any aggression, correct? Why on earth would it bite a kid over the park ?
  9. Belgium Shepherd dog (Malinois). Mine bushes very well with the Spaniels. Catches through being in the right place, super hearing, great brain.
  10. A lot of GSD with high drive about nowadays and most wouldn't be able to handle them. Also as a Police dog most Mali's are not suitable.
  11. My Mali switched on and off as you please. I can walk him off the lead down the town centre no problem. He knows when it's game on and most of the time it's not. I think the dogs that you know of are security or service dogs only. Trouble with the dogs on the vid is, they are left in the kennel only to be got out to do work and this is what they are all about. This breed has a lot more to offer than people think, it's what you do with them that makes them what they are or do.
  12. They'd be able to sneak right up on them.
  13. Not apposed to taking one for the pot as I sure they would've tasted ok. Although I'm glad you put them back. Well done mate.
  14. 9 enquires off here and over 30 calls from the net. I am still yet to find a good home or a home that can do these pups justice. Lots of people seem to think these are a keep in the kennel take it out once or twice a week lamping dog. These dogs will need to be worked and on a regular basis. Not one person has bothered to come and see the parents work. The pups here are already showing guarding instincts and this will need to be harnessed. They all retrieve, sit and are house trained, to a fashion, not easy to do with four pups and yes I now have 4, one was returned as the new owners cou
  15. I may have one here somewhere, I'll take a look.
  16. Gnipper's right. I wouldn't trust Alder, in fact I wouldn't trust any water grown stuff. Willows, Alder all grow fast and have large ring growth (not tight grained). I may be wrong but I wouldn't trust it. They make Clogs out of Alder and Cricket bats out of Willow. The are both very light but are fairly soft.
  17. £2200 isn't a lot for a fully trained dog, bearing in mind the time and effort that goes in to it. But if you haven't the knowledge of training, how do you know what you are buying? Do you have someone to look at the dog for you and are you looking at getting yourself up to speed?
  18. Depends on what you call costly. Any good dog is costly.
