  1. Packham has made a 'stand' against the shooting of migratory turtle doves. Shooting in Malta is very tightly controlled in areas of shooting, species and numbers. Packham is a very strange animal himself and not above bending the truth or causing outrage. He is a total nut, depressive and untruthful but sadly he uses his BBC publicity and personna to pursue his own agenda. I have written to the BBC about precisely this point - they are not remotely interested and say he is doing nothing wrong. The BBC are not the organisation they once were sadly. However, we do need to be front-line con
  2. Whenever I hear the name dianne abbot, J corbyn comes to mind. Both are linked in pathetic union, reminding us all what politicians are. Not very impressive just arrogant and self serving. They are examples of why we should comment on politics and vote. In a short time they will be dark memories. The sooner the better for me.
  3. I've had both and no damp with the cavity insulation - I'd be tempted to stud the walls on the inside and avoid cavity filling now if I needed more insulation value. Its all a matter of how much it costs and the saving in electricity/gas/oil. Internal ventilation is also v important. Keeping a flow of air from inside to out tends to compensate for the amount of water now in houses through washing /drying/mopping/showers etc.

    Basc Update

It would be interesting to hear whether the majority leave BASC normally or are asked to leave ie dismissed. Looks like it would be an abnormally high figure leaving under a cloud. That would include the old CEO - John Swift of the turncoat persuasion.

    Basc Update

Worth a read but sit down first. https://basc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2017/03/170227-BASC-Executive-Summary-final.pdf Incompetence writ large.
  6. Good on the 15 year old - anything that catches thieving poachers has to be a 'good thing'. Time everyone saw poaching as theft and it lost the 'romantic' tag. Give them all a criminal record - no more shooting. I have no time for theft and thieves of any sort.
  7. These seem quite good and Svaro's are a bit beyond your quoted budget. $2780 or thereabouts http://www.opticsplanet.com/nikon-1200-team-realtree-laser-rangefinder.html. These are $500 reviews are good.
  8. Wings are not a favourite, neither are legs - I like the breast.
  9. Ignoring the above, 'all Members to answer' is the reason why I am not going to ! Do you wear a tutu and trainers - come on.
  10. Special lady and soooo attractive, Whatever else, we should all remember - never speak ill of the dead, they cant defend themselves,
  11. As an afterthought, I was 'offered' a generator by an Irishman in a white van - just got one left - let you have it cheap just off back to Ireland. I'm sure you know the scam - looks like a petrol generator but has no 'guts' i.e. it was built as new never intending to be used. The term p***y seems to suit here.
  12. Worth seeing a dealer for your PCP and trading it.
  13. Just as a bit of honest local history/prejudice. When I was in secondary school some long years ago, we used to see (mainly in summer) proper gypsies calling at and moving through our small village to carryout seasonal work and they were housed in caravans and often just stopped on the village green or some wide verge. They were always regarded with respect as they were from Romania and all points east. They paid for what they ate asked permission to gather game and were very intelligent and hardworking people. Then there were the Irish gypsies and the once removed didicoy they were the opp
  14. No. Why aren't you worried about ensuring the earth keeps spinning and is properly greased ? There are loony ideas everywhere, somewhere someone occasionally believes it. Buy some foil and make a hat.
  15. One begins to wonder where we went wrong - why is it ok to harrass Cliff Richard publicly and to turn a blind eye to this desperately sordid mess. Maybe it goes to prove that, apart from political correctness, the more you have political clout the less involved the police will get. Anyone who has been convicted as a serial sex offender based on religeon/politics should be emasculated. These were children of 11, it doesnt get any more appalling than this.
  16. Pictures arent the best - could be a moorhen, I agree.
  17. The British voted to leave the EU - for me there is nothing to discuss, we are the law as this is a democracy. No - one has a greater right than to obey the people. MP's are our representatives, not our keepers. Decide what is on offer and do as we asked but with the best terms possible - or resign.
  18. Life has changed for the worse with Twitter and Facebook - morning TV, specifically 'Good Morning' is the opiate of the deluded masses - same as the previous 2. To quote the trendy 'OMG' !
  19. The type of person who would suggest religeon is more important or a first consideration after the death of four and so many injured could be construed as trolling. Were I the one making decisions on membership, I'm afraid Axum's would be withdrawn.

    Basc

Anyone heard whether the old CE is no longer being paid, or the new one has had his disciplinary yet?
  21. I find that religeon as a 'rough moral code' is helpful. Much more and one gets into the 'expansion and protection' of an individual faith. More innocents have been killed in the name of religeon than can be justified by any religeon. Time we all thought about 'doing as you would be done by' and admiring churches mosques etc for only their structural and architectural beauty. Belittle no man.
  22. Owen, Difficult one but you have already contacted the land registry if you know the land is unregistered. You need a bit of solicitors advice but look up the types of ownership since you may be able to register it and lodge a claim for possessive title which allows certain land to become the property of the person who claims it after 10 ish years. Equally someone may come along and contest it so get advice first and do it properly and establish a prior claim. Good Luck.
  23. There's nothing tricky about deciding whether poaching is good or bad - its an illegal pursuit carried out on land not owned by the perpetrator who destroys property and degrades the land by his actions. Its selfishness personified. One cannot pick and choose the laws one chooses to obey - thats anarchy and means anyone can do what he thinks is right to you and yours - maybe 'borrow' your car, 'borrow' a bit of cash, or much much worse. Obey the law - ask for permission. Poachers deserve no sympathy. Take away their guns and their dogs.
  24. Interesting answers -anyone heard of Karma ? If you would kill for a million you might kill for 100,000, your morality has already been established - you are just negotiating on the cost. Never, is the right answer; even if morality doesnt guide your choice, it might be you who commits suicide, even if you dont die as a result of the red button.
  25. I'd be very happy never to use a vet again both because costs are ridiculous and because it would mean no unhealthy dogs. The last time I used one they set two people and would not put my 13 year old ridgeback to sleep until they had checked him - as if you would request the death of a pet you have had for 13 years without just cause. they are arrogant and a serious affront to caring owners. Prices I reckon are mostly down to insurance - some company pays, charge a fortune.
