im awaiting delivery of my hw98, probably wont be loctited but I just hope its not. I heard its just the 97/77/80 but who knows they might start doing all their rifles. I just wonder what they hope to achieve by doing this if its for anti-tamper purposes why bother. their guns are getting worse out the box quality is poor these days and aftermarket tuners -that try to make them the rifles they deserve to be- will get pissed off having to heat them up before taking them apart.

Gun Lights For Lamping?
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to JDE's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I use currently a Deben tracer mini and its a decent lamp. straight on the scope no problem. has an on / off switch but I think you can get a version with a dimmer instead for a little more money. spots rabbits at distance easily, if anything I woul;d say its a bit too powerful as at close range - 40 yards - the beam is possibly too bright and the rabbits seem to run more than sit. suppose a red filter would make this lamp better for close range, and taking shots, but not as good as a longer range spotting lamp. if it had a dimmer it would be amazing but I hardly go lamping so haven' -
LOL nice one! my neighbours hate it when im skinning and gutting rabbits or squirrels, or plucking and debreasting woodpigeon in my garden lol shouldn't be nosey cnuts and look into my garden, that's not my problem now is it! ..........

Very good point mate! I guess it should say, "scan with your eyes, once you know there are no people/non-target animals, THEN use your scope to check for Rabbits etc" That'd work right? I also walk around with my safety ON at all points, only take it off just before I shoot... I must admit I do it, but only if the gun is on safe, or unloaded/cocked its bad practice yeah and maybe not as safe as using a spotting scope or binoculars.. but that's just extra gear to lug around and spend money on! lol just stay safe and you should be fine. loads of times I think 'ooh -
get a comfy chair in there and your sorted

excellent write up Daz, one thing I will say..before someone else does.. everywhere I look online about rifle safety, it always says don't point your rifle at anything that isn't a safe target.. as in your TIP#3 where you say to scan round using the rifle scope or you will miss seing rabbits that the naked eye wouldn't have seen. sorry mate just thought id point it out. safety is the most important thing -
Nice one mate

at 15 yards, easily! lol nice shot mate
-
only had a dabble at ferreting a few times. good fun tho, watching your mates superman-dive down a banking to grab a rabbit in a net LOL just make sure you feed them before you go out, if there hungry and get a kill down the burrow you could be waiting a while for them to have their dinner
-
well in moxy. good shooting mate. good luck with the trapping nice scope you have there, wheres the rifle?!
-
haha good thread! nice shooting RC1 lad, and nice gun aswell.
-
don't lie daz you shot it with a .177 and then went to get the tomato ketcup and the rapid before taking the pic seriously tho. foooook me that's some damage right there!

Seen it on facebook this morning. I like the nickel action, shame the silencer and underlever catch are blued, that spoils it for me. still a lovely gun
-
Excellent shooting lads. I need to get more practice in some steady wind to learn about windage, suppose you cant do anything about blustewry wind tho. 97 looks nice mac, I cant decide which looks best out of the thumbhole or sporter. they both shoot and balance well tho. cracking guns. I will probably get another one day lol

Old Down Pursuits Hft This Sunday
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Hw100 went over the limit so its off back to be turned down a bit. and traded the hw97kt as a deposit towards a new hw98 that I should hopefully pick up on Friday morning or Saturday if I sleep iin again lol hopfully I wont regret getting rid of the 97 too bad, she served me well had some good kills and some nice groups that really gave me confidence in my ability. but times change and people change with them, and now I fancy a new challenge in the form of a hw98, that if I gel really well with , will be sent off to SFS to give me the truly amazing rifle ive always wanted. if -
