    Obviously more power is better but you dont NEED 11.99 FPE Did you see my thread last week where i shot the pigeon with the .22 and the pellet stayed in the bird (side on chest shot)and caused instant death and a lot of damage to the heart and lungs area Take a look its in airgun hunting think it was last sunday cant remember the title of it tho

    But the .177 wouldnt have dropped that much so it would have passed throught the brain instead of the neck!I do think .22 is best for hunting. Although i havent tried a housebrick (.25) slinger yet lol What I meant was if you shot a rabbit with .177 in the neck it more than likely do a runner50:50 i think.Should have seen the damage the .22 did. All its neck puffed up full of blood

    Oh the old split a .22 pellet on a knife edge trick eh?! I filmed a decent shot with the HW77K yesterday. An empty HMR case perched on the tip of some barbed wire lased at 70 yards in a 10 - 15mph crosswind. I had to give 5 mil dots hold over and 2 mil dots for windage on x6mag. Took me three shots mind and when I ran over I found the bloody battery had gone on the camera I was gutted! Aye gutted!Cant wait to get my hw77k .. really miss my hw97kt knew i would regret getting rid of her. Ah well. Miss having a springer shooting a pcp is too easy! Lol

    Now then! After a hard morning of being up early after a late night, and going for a massive breakfast (big mistake!) before we played footy for a few hours I got home and was absolutely nackered, so had a nice hot bath and a cold strongbow and was going to have a relaxing evening... However, after a couple of cans I decided I really wanted to go shooting for an hour, haven't been all week and as soon as I looked at the hw100kt .22 all lonely and neglected just sitting there calling out for me to give her the life she deserves, I had to go!     Iv got this one and my 97k fits nicely in it there good bags if your not shoor take the rifle to the gun shop and try it in a few bags atvbmac :thumbs: Thats my advice too. Obviously the higher your scope is mounted adds to the depth of the rifle bag you will need.

    As long as you hit them in the right spot and theres no suffering then I agree a heart/lungs shot is just as effective as a headshot. sometimes headshots are hard to pull off, especially on pigeons that move their heads a lot. good shooting mate

    Excellent write up Simon it feels like I was tucked away in the hide with you. I must agree it has been beautiful over our end in the last few days, I was hunting Friday night and Saturday morning, and would have loved to have got out for a bit yesterday but had a few things to take care of so I didn't get chance. I only managed a rabbit and 2 woodys but I was very happy with that, and to have my beloved hw100 back. Ayup lads, up early for a mooch this morning with the hw100kt and my mate with his lightning got there, he took first rabbit headshot about 20 yards resting on a fence. then I got one standing unsupported at 17yards was sat just about to hop into the bush smacked it bang on the money right next to the eye. then 2 mins later we saw some poachers with 2 rabbits. so we went to my mates other permission, nothing about just 1 bunny that was about 200 yards away and skittish, we went through a hole in some brambles and Charlie bolted 5 yards infront of me! nice to see him but that'

    if had had the money id have loads of guns haha but stuck in a dead end job at a supermarket I cant really afford much. going to wait for the 98 .177 then SFS it and stick with that as a target/plinker and the 100 as my hunting tool cheers lads
