i lived up at lee for many years, i remember the yorkshire grey well, and your post is quite right. before living at lee we were in new cross and by god even in the early 70s the area was overrun. our street had nigerians, vietnamese, and jamaicans. the original immigrants were polite, grateful to be here and respectful. they tried to fit in. the vietnamese had kids who we never saw outside school, dont know what became of them all. the blacks had kids who became f***ing assholes (they were the rioters in the early 80s, not the original imigrants). then the bangladeshis started to arrive, and -
now, i have never bred a litter in 30+ years of working dogs, so i might be talking bollocks, but here is a thought. look at pedigree dogs and you are talking 700/800 plus; look at well bred gundogs and maybe £500+. why are lurchers and terriers so cheap? and why are there so many in the rescue centres ? if every lurcher pup cost 500 would people be so happy to get rid if they werent working out? or would they be more motivated to try to find solutions to minor problems and train/look after/work the dogs a bit more carefully if they had a considerable value?

dad used to make us a sort of crossbow from old biciycle parts, used the inner tube for the string and the handlebars for the bow, or could use a wooden coat hanger. if you cut the spokes out of the wheels they made deadly arrows. if you fired them into a wooden door from about 15 yards you needed a pair of pliers to pull them out

when i was 15 my first lurcher was deer grey back to collie, what a dog she was for a novice. trained herself and would run all day at good speed. i didnt realise how lucky i was to have one like her at the time

change them to raw meatand bone over the course of two or three weeks. start with cooked meat, and gradually cook less and less until its raw. if the dog gets loose again just start boiling the meat again. if he is still loose after changing for more than a few days get him to the vet with a stool sample to check for any intestinal problems (giardia can have symptoms a bit like you describe, for example)

H&S is what, exactly? the only official bodies which can claim to be "H&S" would be the local environmental health dept or the health and safety executive. neither of these bodies want to ban very much, but they do want things approached in a safe way. this may mean producing risk assessments, providing correct PPE, certification of workers etc. the people who ban activities are THE SCHOOLS< COLLEGES< EMPLOYERS THEMSELVES! they lack the knowledge/skill/will/balls to ensure activities are safe and therefore ban them. so in the case of mortar board-throwing, they might decide to is

good advice above.we always have 6 or 7 out back, they will get a fair bit foraging in summer but always put some extra feed down. we got one old girl (wifes pet) who is 7 now, still laying 4/5 eggs a week. they do make a shocking mess if you overstock, and it stinks as it dries out in the sumer if you let the run get too bad. only ever had one duck go broody and she was kept as a pair with a drake; i dont normally keep drakes so i dont know if this is necessary to get them broody? i tried keepeing one drake with 6 ducks like you would hens, but he paired up with one and used to attack the oth

i get the concentrated hypochlorite in 20 litre barrels that you use for swimming pools; half a pint in a cattle trough and leave for an hour, brings it up lovely. or quarter of a pint in a bucket ofwater, great for concrete floors, decking, etc

you need to rinse well, and you need to make sure the area gets a good airing or ventilation before putting animals back in.

He dosent chew his kennel but gets plenty of bones ill ring the vets in the morn an sort it out i have had a couple of dogs which just couldnt cope with really big hard cow bones and tried to crunch them up like they would with smaller bones. they both ended up snapping teeth and i stopped them from having big bones. hope he comes right
-
yep, get it out. i expect hes broken them as dog teeth hardly ever decay unless broken; the other teeth look good. does he chew at the kennel at all, or does he get big bones (some dogs dont deal with big bones very sensibly)

yeah its good stuff, works even when you really dilute it, just have to leave it longer to work.
