    Great Week

good for you fella. youknow, having lived in big cities i think people are often even more grateful for the pleasures of a more peaceful existence when they do leave, which sometimes those born in rural areas take for granted. a mate of mine grew up on a huge dairy farm/sporting estate in somerset, his dad owns the land and he can hunt shoot fish quad ride whatever he wants whenever he wants, but the only thing he wants to do is hang around in town in a crappy flat drinking and chasing women! i struggle to understand it, if i had been born in his shoes i would think ihad won the lottery every
  4. here is a true story, bit off track but funny in a disgusting way. the family next door are a bit odd, proper scruffs and proper hoarders, place is like a fecking pig sty. they are also a couple of crackpots but they are pleasant enough in their own strange way. so one day the wife comes out of the outside utility room saying how much it stinks and she doesnt know why. this lasts for about a week, during which time the oldest daughter (in her 20s) thinks there is a problem with the plumbing as the bathroom stinks (it is above the utility room) and the old woman is getting more and more str
  5. Plenty of fighters have retired undefeated but when they are sitting telling their story to the grand children later on in life.......will they hand on heart be able to tell them that they really truly pushed themself to the absolute limit of their ability and seeked out the toughest competition available to them......when all the smoke has cleared a fighter only has himself to answer to.....if he knows he fought the toughest opponents out there and pushed himself beyond his own capabilities then win or lose that is the true glory.....not a nice pretty undefeated record.......i still speak to

just looked up my mothers family, apparently they come from french knights/aristocracy who came here in the 1700s, there is a coat of arms and a family estate somewhere in shropshire! i shall have to do some more research, might have a rich relative somewhere!!
  8. ignore the pigs for a minute, tell your neighbour you dont want his dogs on your land, end of. you dont have to give any reason or explanation. it is his responsibility to see that this happens. whether that means locking them up or making the fence good is up to him.tell him that otherwise you will take legal action. depending on your relationship and how you think he will take it, sometimes a bit of fear goes a long way so you can tell him the dogs will be shot if they go after your pigs. this may just wind him up though! my old mum had some people from bristol move next to her smallholdin

my surname is welsh, but it shouldnt really be my surname. let me explain. my grandfather was a sailor, (and there are a lot of stories about him, i would love to have met him). anyway, whilst he was on active service overseas ( there is some dispute where) he got in a fight with one of the ships officers and killed him with his barehands. he ran away to avoid being hung, made his way back to england and went into hiding. when he had to join up at theb start of WW1 he changed his name to our present family name. his original surname was Gwynell or Gwinnell, which is apparently from anglo saxon
  12. yep, i dearly miss having a pony or two to play with. one day.....
  13. we used to take baskets of racing pigeons through the foot tunnelt to the isle of dogs on our bikes, they always used toget home before us but it was always worth while to try winning!
  14. i used to green break ponies for driving, they are clever animals without doubt but they are more controlled byinstinct than a dog; they find it very hard to think things through and the default setting is "if its new or different then its really scary". takes a lot to get them used to new sights/sounds/smells and you really need to start the thinking process when they are young; bythat i mean that a colt which sees new stuff all the time will accept other new stuff more readily. but they are hard wired for flight response which is the main difference to a dog
  15. you know what wilf i feel very much the same as you. i lived in new cross/deptford/lee till i was 25, then i upped sticks and travelled about the country and saw a bit of the world. that was nearly 25 years ago now, and whilst i have an affection for the memories the place will always hold for me, mostly because of shared experiences with my family,(my grandmother was born at Lee in 1892 so we have a history!) but i do not miss the place at all. i visit my old dad and my sister when i get a chance, but i drive down early sunday mornings and leave mid afternoon, its a toilet now. by the wa

  17. rspca show their true colours again. animal needs help=noshow as there is no political mileage or money in it
  18. Mate, it's always been the same as long as I remember.......we used to go down Lewisham on a Saturday when we were kids. It was the time of all the casuals Fila, Sergio all that stuff.......the fuckers were nicking kids clothes off their back down alley ways at knife point. They used to tap on the window if you was parked in your car and ask yo to move aside so they could get a look at the stereo to see if it was worth smashing the window, stabbing you and nicking it ! You know well yourself how it is/was wilf you should take a drive down catford sometime when you come back to engla
  19. Poor Kunika has to walk 5 miles everyday from her filthy shack to the piss and rat infested river,to drink water that might kill her... She doesn't know how to boil water, dig a well or even move her village of poorly built sheds closer to the river... She's just a child... and the poor little b*****ds parents didnt even think twice before creating kunika and her 12 brothers and sisters and throwing them into a world of hardship thirst and hunger. selfish c**ts
  20. i grew up in deptford, my sister still lives there and my dad is just upo the road in blackheath. it was always a rough area, and there were a lot of immigrants when i was a kid, mostly nigerians and vietnamese, but the thing that has changed is the fact that the original immigrants were grateful to be here and happy to try to fit in. they were genuinely resp ctful of our culture. two things have happened in the 25 years or so since i moved away. first, the original immigrants had kids and those kids grew up with large chips on their shoulders, and secondly waves of eastern europeans started
  21. really simple. make a cube about a foot across (or a barrel shape, or sphere or whatever) from 1/2 inch wire or plastic mesh, and on one side cut a hole for a funnel of mesh which goes small-end inwards so the fiush can swim in the wide end but cant swim out the narrow opening. bait with fish food in a plastic bag with lots of little holes in, tied with two bits of line so it is suspended in the middle of the trap and leave for a day or two
