Would your mate be better off writing to the head of department or even chief constable? A polite letter spelling out the crack, sent in recorded delivery and obviously keep a copy yourselves. Stipulate he has danced to their tune for a year, as told, but has not had this keeping guns at home ban lifted despite being a responsible person etc etc. Ask them what needs to be done in order to get the guns back home... Otherwise they will sit with their thumbs up their arses for a while..

I agree with this mate but it seems it's the done thing all over. Work the lads to their limits to test their character almost, see if they've got it in them to keep going despite being absolutely f****d. I don't think it's good practice but them birds need looking after... You have to want to be a gamekeeper and not be motivated by money (for the first few years at least)

5/6 miles + a day with the dogs, 5 miles cycling and on my feet all day sweating like fook are taking it's toll on my knees, hips and back...

Agree, go for a pup. You can then develop a proper bond with it, and put the hard work in yourself to train it up to a decent standard. It's your money but you will have more satisfaction bringing on a pup.
