Some people are just twisted sadly. I remember being in primary only about 6 or 7. Our school had infants one side and the big kids the other. Every break time time one of the big kids came over and leathered me. Remember being dumped in a puddle and had to spend the day in class in me pants which was a bit awkward being so well endowed lol. I only had a short walk of few hundred yards down an alley to get home. One day he came out of now where floored me and kicked all me teeth out. I was like a mummy for months. Great times These bullies the second they are spotted need dealing with wi

Why makes a lurcher pick their runs by the hedge?
terryd replied to springfield's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
That is true I find this with my present one and its that attitude that puts things in the bag. The rabbit might be in C but he will go through round or over incase it tries to go to D lol. Just applying that bit of pressure seems to make them some times make the wrong move too -
You could check out the gwp. Never had one my self but I know a friend who rated them very highly and able to do what ever was thrown at them. But he did say they were a bit different to train

Yes it can. Paul Sullivan on fb does them. Or do it your self if you can be fussed but i think his cheap enough and nice new collar fitted

Bought all his books in my teens very inspiring back then. Looking at his videos now though he really does seem a daft sod

It is sad plain and simple. I have lived around this village for nearly 40 years and back then you could spend a day ferreting one hedge row. You could walk half a mile in any direction and find rabbits. Now we have huge areas of nothing. Even the last 4 years they have taken yet another dive with farms where we could lamp 3 or 4 with ease nothing. Walked 6 fields tonight after work and nothing. Just a great shame

Great years them 80's Keith lol. My van got reported by some woods once. Copper came around were you after badgers. Nope, ok thank you bye. Great days

This is it we can only conduct our selves as we see fit. MY daughter started work in the local and one of the farmers was chatting to her who I have known since a kid. He said I was all ways respectful unlike a lot of hunters. I basically never leave a trace and don't disturb live stock if possible and I give them a cheery wave before I disappear into the woods

Also you find goodies or I did on the dualcarrage found a wheel barrow once that had blown off. stashed it the hedge lol The app is https://www.strava.com/

any thing that been rattled around forestry tracks will have taken a pounding and most of them drive like nutters lol

who knows bit of a gamble. If your a dog for life type of fella you might be better off with some thing breed for the job. On the other hand it could be a whirling dervish

oh and make sure you got mud guards or at least a rear

Yea good luck with that mate trying to keep dry is a challenge I never wear lycra just me normal work clothes and keep spare set of clothes in work or took with me. MIne was about 16 miles round trip up a dual carriageway one way so I had spray off the traffic as well. Best water proofs I found were from the farmers co op some nice green ones and a bit stretchy. They worked really well. I cycled for about 4 years hardly missed a day but got new job now and its too far. The biggest thing is good gloves because by christ the old hands can get cold on an icy morning

The thing with this fitness lark is once you get through the fook me this is torture part puffing like a train it can get addictive. Once you get few years in then any injury that holds you back can be a pain because you worry about sliding and losing your hard earned work. When i used to cycle to work if i took the car for some reason I would be in a right grump when i got home and just didn't feel right all most with drawn lol

running is best for getting better wind just build up to 3 x 5 miles a week and after year you will notice the diff. You will still puff a bit going up a hill but you will recover in seconds and end up with constant low heart rate
