Northern Ireland Hunting Act (Ban)
terryd replied to Corkman's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
True this is why we are all screwed in the long term sadly just a matter of time -
I love seeing all these pics of bushing dogs. Load of character. I used to have great fun back in the day. The jr in this pic was my best ever ferreting dog. In this neck of the woods we have loads of cover and you get easy holes around the edge that never hold any thing. But the amount of times he would thrash the cover and the old bunny would go to ground in them nice easy holes. He put a lot away and once he go on the line that was pretty much game over. He never went to ground on rabbits but was just as happy 8 feet down duking it out with other stuff Great to see people

Starting Dog Pre Ban With No Pilot
terryd replied to South hams hunter's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Good dogs just go when there ready. Be it terriers or lurchers and they seem to be better for it. But yea each to own -
Balls I had a blitz a couple of years ago brand new and sold for eightly quid no wonder he gave me good review

I think it is just pot luck also if a rabbit has survived a stop end encounter before it will try it again. No real way of working it out. We have all seen rabbits edge to the mouth of a hole and sit there checking that pursenet out or peeping at you deciding if to go or not. On the other hand I have bolted rabbits 3 times that have slipped nets and dogs have missed yet they have still bolted again and this has happened plenty of times over the years

To find a post code just search for bank of belfast but to be honest you may run the risk of making the partition null and void if your not actually in Ireland so might not be the best idea -

Don you have to be in Ireland? I did try but it said Sorry, we can not find any representatives Good luck with it though because what happens over there if they win will spur on the numpties else where -
This is the thing I dig clams on a holiday beach because that is where they are. Only matter of time before before they stop bait collecting on that beach and then else where. Next thing you will need a licence nibble nibble

Nearly every week fieldsports are losing ground this has just come one FB from Scottish basc. Just relentless and few more years there will be nothing BREAKING: Scottish Government considers ban on snares. An exchange in the Scottish Parliament today has suggested that the Scottish Government's imminent review of snaring will give consideration to a statutory ban.

He seemed pretty composed in court and didn't let the prosecution bully him. The only other thing I can get from this is don't run after and threaten some one carrying a rifle. Did they think he was going to throw it on the floor and stick his dukes up

That farm did look a bit like the one that was on a badger baiting program at some point. Might be wrong though. But I thought the dogs looked well and about all they could come up with was dirty feet on a terrier that had no bed but also looked in good nick. Well worth all them coppers and armed police

Any one know what happened here ? More than 30 dogs seized by police at North Wales farm following concerns about animal welfare | ITV News WWW.ITV.COM In one outbuilding, 200 yards from the main farm, a lone dog was discovered, tied up, surrounded by its own muck. | ITV National News Me old eye ain't what they were but do them dogs actually look well?

I know a fella with a couple of imports and he talked me out of having a pup. He said there great little dogs but you will spend half your time following them around the country. When he lets his out in the yard if they don't keep an eye there gone. I was thinking of one for bit of shooting working cover ferreting etc and bit company when fishing and he said nah lol

Northern Ireland Hunting Act (Ban)
terryd replied to Corkman's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
That is not really a problem though because no sane person would give two hoots what some plonker on the internet thinks of him -
Back in the eighties we got white frosts in October and normal winters with a mixture of snow rain and hard frosty spells. The country was full of wildlife and all the small farms were working ones. So what ever we were doing then lets do it again

A year in prison for catching a rabbit with a dog old Cecil who showed me ferrets and snares would turn in his grave. It really is shameful -
A man walks into a bar. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a little man, maybe a foot tall, and a little piano. He puts them both on the bar and the little guy starts playing Mozart as the man orders his drink. The bartender says "I'm sure it's none of my business, but where did you find a little man who plays piano like that?" The guy says "There's a genie outside granting wishes, I bet he's still there if you hurry." The bartender runs outside, and moments later a bunch of ducks come in through the front door and start causing a big ruckus. The bartender says "You didn't te

Russell Tovey was upset according to the news who ever the hell he is and like his opinion matters about any thing. Jesus bring back Angela Rippon when the news was sort of news

Sorry to hear this Ray. You done right by him and he had a good life which is all that matters

That is true. My granddad bought me an old nag as a kid. Right nut case. Jumped out of the shed one night over a 5 ar gate through a gap you be hard pushed to fit a dog through. Took half the shed with it. Bolted through some woods with me dangling from a stirrup and nearly killed me. That was the end of my horse days. Much preferred the donkey more of a character and not out to kill me

That terrier will be perfect with a bit of experience. You will have a great little team. Can't beat a terrier for ferreting. I couldn't have one around though because its badgervil

I have never watched him before. Just thought he was some silly trophy hunter. But I watched one a week or so ago and dam his good. Seems real genuine guy and his comments ring true just like we would think about things. Upto season 6 now bloody great
