  1. Did it once on a snowy frosty night with a full moon years ago but it was too bloody cold. Visibility was good though
  2. Slow and steady is the way for sure. I do a couple of drops on well lit fields the rabbits can see me a mile away. But I remember tc telling me once keep your movements slow and deliberate. But if you rush about they tend to make a run for it before you get by. It has paid off more than once and I have been able to get a couple when I expected an empty field This is the back drop to one field lit up light a stadium but still got a couple
  3. Like that with me bass for exactly the same reason I all ways deny catching any thing on the beach. I admit to nothing
  4. Got to agree there thats why if I have a couple of rabbits in the fridge/freezer I will stay at home rather than run the long nets out much as I would like too. But I find of all the methods in the right spots you can clean things out a bit. I know the wood you mean Allan been there a couple of times and lucky to get one now as there is only a handful about there. Nice little spot though and very nice farmer
  5. 20 years ago the old boys used to complain how few rabbits were about. Now when I look back to 20 years ago there was loads compared to now. So at least in this neck of the woods they seem in decline. 20 years ago with in a mile of where I sit now there used to be at least a dozen spots with plenty now nothing I didn't appreciate how good it was at the time ( that was a liberal 20 more like 25 thinking about it )
  6. ain't that the truth my grans cooking was amazing. She made a veg stew of some sort and a crispy suet pudding. I have never yet been able to get close to it. Pretty sure it had chickpeas in or maybe even beans. Used to polish off plates of the stuff after a day out with the dogs as a kid. As for her yorkshire puddings well I ain't got no chance
  7. I was glad I did mine different animal now very laid back and playful and stays with the two jills all the time so I don't have to worry. On the the down side he has turned into a nice little worker the same as the jill I had spayed and further down the line they would have been a good pair to breed from in hind site when they need replacing. But I do still have one whole jill who is also a good worker so all is not lost there
  8. Terriers due to there size just seem able to slide around any where I don't remember mine ever getting cut up unless as you say he was just careful. He never used to bull doze through just seemed to glide along some how

  20. Agreed! It was scary to me that they were willing to offer so much! Easy to see how some people can get so easily duped tho! Fair enough sittin speakin' with the guy, all smiles and roses, but, You buy a £200k house... It's no bungalow, so it needs heating...more heating than you may have been struggling to pay before. It has more lights that will get left on... Bigger floors, which need bigger carpets... Bigger spaces, which need bigger / more furniture....... It's quite possibly in a 'fancier' area, so, you obviously then need the 'fancier' car to sit outside... Which then drink

  23. cheers for the pointers I will give them a try all ways handy to bit of input
  24. Thanks Andrew all ways good to be out Yes he is broke to ferrets he doesn't have a killer instinct about him so that was quite easy to do. He is a bit of a handful house dog to ferreting dog has been a bit of a change to him. But he loves it so no going back now. Managed to get him sitting still while I netted up at the weekend even if he made a racket while I was doing it. Any ferreting dog is better than no ferreting dog at least thats what I keep telling my self I don't like going with out him now as any sort of indication if some thing is home is helpful
