  2. That dog seems to be one of the special ones fair play
  3. you could download and run combofix just ignore any warnings about running antivirus and reset your browser to defaults afterwards
  4. shout rabbit and leg it in general direction the dogs soon twig and coming running then you can just start pointing in general direction. All so handy if in an emergency the dog is heading for a road.I was in my teens at the time not much legging it now a days
  5. Wouldn't get me standing in there with them flying around rather stand in room with family badgers. Confined spaces and rats not for me
  6. Like country joe said failing that the book is very helpful. 50 yards of net waiting to get in right tangle can be daunting to start but with practice you soon start to feel at home and feel comfortable handling them the more you do it .
  7. same here that describes all 3 of mine
  8. Very sad sorry to hear. Had to carry mine home one night due to fits though his was caused by a fall and he never made it. Dangerous occupation lamping for the dogs and its all ways the good ones that cop it. But they do love it and wouldn't want to be left at home thats for sure
  9. Tc did a good post here that may help you next time http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/306160-repairing-long-nets/
  10. Bloody hell what a day that bank looks lovely really do live in the wrong neck of the woods. Saying that the rush getting one rabbit because there a bit thin on the ground is probably the same you get with 50. Hell of a day though
  11. Lucky that fox bolted from under the cliff. Very odd they gave the impression of caring for the dogs yet let them to ground at the bottom of a cliff and take unnecessary punishment from a fox in the open
  12. Your getting good use of your longnet do you have any short stop nets as well ? looked a nice hedge to cut up a bit with stop nets too

    Spaniels

Cockers are growing on me for sure ours is show bred been a house dog for the wife until about 6 hardly seen a hedge just walked round town and down the beach. But I started to pinch him and take him out and about first time out he flushed a couple of snipe out of thick cover he has also taken to pheasants and rabbits all natural for him. I am trying to get him to mark ferreting now and he is catching on quick. Complete pain in the ass as far as training goes but thats on me not him. From a young dog he could have been superb little all rounder and even now he proving him self useful and I d
  14. I wouldn't delay going to the vet some of them skin conditions can be a really hard to get sorted. I had a lurcher once that had mange of some description and the vet tried every thing but couldn't cure it.
  15. piped that through to the tv really enjoyed it. Cracking sport
  16. I think it is a battle we won't win. Minds have all ready been made up. People are either for, against or don't care and they are unlikely to change there minds in any direction. As for the future generations I think they are either bought up understanding the ways of the country side or not. The ones that have been bought up understanding it are hopefully the ones that continue the traditions. People who read that article will either understand it and see nothing wrong or those on the other of the fence I am not sure how there brains work. But neither side will jump ship because of that
  17. Good video that when that was made I was 12 at the time we had just moved to wales and the old fella across the road who was same type of chap as the guy in video got me interested in ferreting and mole trapping. Funny how things move on with time but to be honest I would have been quite happy stuck back in that time zone
  18. Nice stiff westerly here at moment perfect for a drop I had in mind 100 yards billowing in the wind nicely perfect sadly the rabbits did not think so they stayed at home Nice run out regardless
  19. Yea same here last night the wife went hand gliding down the back lane with my plastic green house in the afternoon but by about 9 it was perfectly still. The breeze is forecast to last tonight though
  20. Saw quite few rabbits edge of paignton zoo but that might be pushing it a bit
  21. Did it once on a snowy frosty night with a full moon years ago but it was too bloody cold. Visibility was good though
  22. Slow and steady is the way for sure. I do a couple of drops on well lit fields the rabbits can see me a mile away. But I remember tc telling me once keep your movements slow and deliberate. But if you rush about they tend to make a run for it before you get by. It has paid off more than once and I have been able to get a couple when I expected an empty field This is the back drop to one field lit up light a stadium but still got a couple
  23. Like that with me bass for exactly the same reason I all ways deny catching any thing on the beach. I admit to nothing
  24. Got to agree there thats why if I have a couple of rabbits in the fridge/freezer I will stay at home rather than run the long nets out much as I would like too. But I find of all the methods in the right spots you can clean things out a bit. I know the wood you mean Allan been there a couple of times and lucky to get one now as there is only a handful about there. Nice little spot though and very nice farmer
