As it's very untrendy in 2021 to love your flag, I've done away with the small Union Jack I had hanging in the garage window. And replaced it with a 20ft flagpole. This is the view from my office window.

This isn't another bash-the-police topic. Quite the opposite. Mrs w's SGC runs out in December. Last Saturday (16th) she posted her paperwork off and Tuesday (19th) the FEO phoned her referee and then phoned her asking a couple of questions about cabinet, drinking habits etc. At the end of the phone call he said he'd already sent her new SGC off for signing. Well done DP Police.

It's easy to sit here with a clear head and pass judgment on whether you think suicide is selfish, cowardly or otherwise. People in that position have reached depths I hope I never visit, so obviously they aren't thinking clearly and we can't hope to understand the reasons. I lost a friend to suicide 5 years ago and for several weeks I was asking myself if I had missed something, misread what he said or made him feel he couldn't reach out. I still don't know the answer and probably never will.

Argh! "Chap" is the worst term, depending how it's used. Referring to someone as "a chap I know" is OK. Saying hello to a group of chaps "Alright chaps?" is also OK. Saying hello to one person "Alright chap?" really grinds my gears. And fella to a lesser extent. Been in wales 6 years now and not heard one person refer to anyone as butty. Not even Stan the fish, Non the post, or Phil the hedge.

A club I was a member of years ago used to use wooden clothes pegs to attach the targets to the frame. The club secretary used to go mad when his 2p clothes pegs got shot which obviously made them a go-to target from then on.

Bit early really. You normally hear them calling for mates from the end of November onwards. At least round here you do.
