    I'm after a semi auto shotgun with low recoil. At first i thought about a Hatsan Escort, but now i have been reading about the Berreta A300 Outlander. Which has the least recoil?, is there a semi with better recoil out there?. What ever i get must be left handed as well.

    I have an N550......and i don't like it. The thing eats batteries. You have to keep putting it on and off for day and night shooting,I know people say you can shoot with it in the day, but in reality, for me, it's just not the same as a day scope. I bought a night vision add on for night shooting and that's loads better. No need to keep rezeroing, just put in on and off. The N550 just sits in the spare bedroom. Thinking of getting a 177 air rifle and use it for shooting rats.

    That fine just relates to the illegal possession of a shotgun and not the killing of the swans. If you had asked me what would someone get if caught with a shotgun and no SGC, i would have said a couple of months inside. £750 fine is nothing.

    The swans were shot with an air rifle. Perhaps they never had enough evidence to charge him with the swans. If you are stupid enough to have a shot gun with out a SGC, then you are probably daft enough to go out shooting swans.

    Back in Feb 2011(ish)there were 30(ish) swans shot in the Wedmore area of Somerset. Pauline Kidner, from Secret World Animal Sanctuary, offered £10,500 reward, and Terry Pratchet made it up to £25,000. The Police then arrested 3 men aged 45, 37 and 34. Police said the arresta were a result of the £25,000 reward. What i want to know is what ever happened to these 3 blokes?, did they get charged?, did they go to court?, or what?. The reason i ask is today, while working at a pud, i over heard a group of women talking about these swan killings. To cut a long story short they came to the conclusio

    Tell the FAO that you'll keep the bolt and any mags at your place.

    Apparently pigeons can see in the Ultra Violet range, and washing powder contains brightners that make your clothing glow like a beacon to a pigeon. So don't wash your Camo gear, well, not in Powder with whitener enhancers.

    I was told today by a bloke, that's been shooting for years, to say it's for decoy pigeon shooting. Seems more reasonable to want 5 shots if your decoying.

    I want to get a shot gun. I don't want anything too special, was thinking of a Hatsan Escort 2+1. I just want it for corvid, pigeon squirrel control and may be the odd bit of clay. Thing is i don't want to go through with having to apply for a SGC. I contacted the FAO by Email and asked them if i could have a 2+1 put on my FAC. They said that i would have to apply for a SGC as it would be a 2+1. So what I'm thinking now, is to save me from having to fill out a SGC, is how easy would it be to apply for, and get, a gas action on my FAC?.

    Get yourself a 'Killgerm Technical Manual'. It's like the Bible of pest control. You'll need one if you decide to take the BPCA anyways.

    Alwatys wanted to try Taxidermy but where do you start?. Does any one know of a course in the subject?. I'm in Somerset so down this neck of the woods would be good.

    Tunnel traps, AKA , duffus or barrel traps. Find run, set trap, place trap, lightly sprinkle soil over the top, job done!. If i think walkers may be going near the traps i spray a big yellow dot on the ground ten feet from the trap with road marking paint (tool hire shops sell it). You can only see the mark if you are right by it and even the it means nothing to the person looking at it, but you know your trap is ten foot away from it.

    I have BPCA , RSPH LEVEL 2. If you are serious about going into pest control you need this.The course is a week long, 4 1/2 days tuition and the last 1/2 a day doing the exam. If some one calls you with a bed bug, flea, cockroach problem, would you know where to start?. Advertising, Don't use Yellow pages or Yell.com, complete waste of money. Don't bother with news papers the adds won't pay for theselves. You need to have a web page and then do 'pay per click' (google it).     Guns in the truck, go out shooting, then go home. If i want to go anywhere i do it without any fire arms on board. I don't even like it if I'm out shooting and i can see people watching me. To Country type your out shooting pests, to a tourist, staying in a caravan near by, your a nutter dressed in camouflage that could kill them and their children. it's bad enough when they scream and grab their children when they see my German Shepherd off his lead!.

    I spray Napier Gun cleaner on mine. In fact spray the whole gun with it, and in side the gun cabinet!.

    Tried other rounds but come back to 40g winchester X subs. They hit nice and hard as well.

    I got a Harris and a Edgar Bros.Both are a joy to use, smoothy and quiet. Cheap Chinese imports are a pain to fit, noisy, and get you frustrated. Not what you want when shooting.

    Ring the FAO and ask. It's the only way you can be 100% sure you won't get any grief if anything goes wrong. You can then say ''FAO said it was OK''.........ass covered!.

    I have scopes with, even on my air rifle. Reason being the night vision works better with it.

    Both mine have had trigger kits added. Like different guns. On you tube there are vids of the kits and how to fit them. To punch the pins out i used a small drill bit.
