  1. I thought the whole point of the forms was you fill them out, then all the information on the forms gets checked out, then if they think you are fit in the head and have reason to use you get the cert/license. It's not up to some woman in an office to say yay or nay.
  2. I shot a fox with an air rifle couple of months ago. Got it home and weighed it and it was 15 stone!. Took pictures but they never came out. It's true i tell you!
  3. If you go on to YOUTUBE and do a search for ' camo stock painting DPM style part 1' there is a vid by a bloke called Carbonrocket. He does a couple of spray jobs on guns, the S410 looks well smart. The stocks he does are wood but he might know if you can spray a synthetic stock.
  4. For my .22lr i use a MTC Mamba Lite. You can get them for £160, got parallax and SCB reticle. I got this scope to replace a more expensive scope that didn't have any side parallax, which i needed for my night vision add on, and it is just as good.
  5. I have an LEI on my HMR. I got it because i liked its size. Cost me £100 which is cheap for an LEI, but expensive compared to other Mods. To be honest, i have stood there with other people comparing the sound with other Mods, and it's just nit-picking, they all sound about the same.
  6. Does anyone out there know what the recoil is like on a Benelli semi auto?. Was looking at a left hand all black synthetic Hatsan Escort auto for £295 second hand. I mentioned it was nice but i was after a camo finish. I was shown a Benelli semi auto left hand in a camo. Lovely gun, nice weight and seemed to fit nice. The thing is, i was told before hand, by a bloke i was talking to in a builders merchant, don't get a Benelli, you can carry them all day, but they kick like a mule!. has anyone actually had a go with a Benelli semi and a semi of another make?. I know that Hatsan, Benelli and Fab
  7. This thing is £60. You can get the suckers on Ebay (search glass suckers) for a tenner. I'm sure you could knock something up with some roof batten, a few screws and some pipe insulation .
  8. If it was a rat would you have the same concerns?. When you shoot a pigeon do you think about the chick?. It's all pest/vermin control, like someone else said, if you don't do it, someone else will.
  9. Ask EVERYONE you meet if they know anybody that has a rabbit, pigeon or rat problem. Last year i was working on a building site in Hatherleigh in Devon. We had some guys turn up to do a bit of tarmac in the carpark. I asked if they knew anybody that had a rabbit problem and the main man said he was in charge of a Rugby club near Bridgwater. I said i would sort them out, he said OK. He had loads of rabbits, mainly coming from the fields next the the club. I told him this, he said he knew the farmer, now i got 75 acres of pasture. Last week in at a pub in Honiton, Hare and Hounds, where we are n
  10. when my old man moved into a bungalow (rip) he had the same problem. i had to drill through to the outer brick pass a threaded bars though secure the ends outside with a nut and cement them over Don't bother with the nut, just use some chemfix. Once that goes off you won't shift it. For those that don't know, Chemfix is an anchoring resin. It comes in a tube that is used with a mastic gun. It sets fast and hard. You can get it in any builders merchants.
  11. Under age drinking is breaking the law, some one breaks the law, you call the police then it's their problem. If i was the owner of the land i would be pleased. Better to have the police come and clear them away all legal like, than have a load of cans, burnt grass, and toilet paper littering his nice lake area. Imagine if one of them had got well pissed and fallen in the lake and drowned. Then it would have been ''Why didn't you call the Police!?''.
  12. I have had my S410 for 5 years now. After evey use i spray the whole thing all over with Napier oil. Give it a rub down with a cloth, then put it away in the cabinet. I do this with all my guns and they all look good as new.
  13. If I'm out on a pest control run for rabbits i don't want to be messing about breaking a springer, putting in a pellet at a time. I just take the S410, with its 3 mags, and off i go. If I'm using the night vision and i see 3 rabbits, it's just a case of pulling the trigger, pull back the bolt to reload, repeat till all 3 are dead, you can't do that with a springer. A PCP is just a more efficient tool.
  14. Check out auctions. P.PYLE in Hatherleigh, Nr Oakhampton in Devon has Sporting auctions. I got 55 duffus traps for £35, and they was in mint condition. They had some cages as well but i wasn't interested in them so don't know what they went for.
  15. I caught a fox cub in a rabbit cage a couple of years ago. All that was in there was some carrots cut into battons, must have been a vegetarian.....
  16. Give us a clue where, cheers Rich Just went on Google and typed in 'Hawke rangfinder pro 1000'. Third row down says 'shopping results'. Click on the one that says '4 stores. You'll see that there is one there for £156 but then there is delivery on that. I looked a minute ago and there is one for £155.95 but it doesn't say if that includes delivery.
  17. If you search Youtube for 'Shooting foxes in daylight' there is a good vid shows you how to call them in and then shoot them with a shotgun.
  18. Going back to the insurance. Full BASC membership for £66. That gives you £10,000,000 of product and liability insurance. Plus they have a legal team that's just a phone call away. BASC do loads of other stuff too. I also have a seperate pest controllers policy. You never know if an idiot will try and eat your poison, or a kid think it's a good idea to stick his fingers in a fenn......general public, dumb asses
  19. Have you got any insurance?. There is no way i would be wanting to shoot anything anywhere, let alone near the public, with out adequate insurance. If you might be seen by the general public i would also wear a hi vis vest with PEST CONTROLLER on the back. The last thing you want is some one freaking out when they see a bloke in camo with a gun. Have a good long look and a good think before you even fire a shot. If something was to go wrong, heavens forbid, the law are going to looking to see if you showed 'due diligence'. At the end of the day ALWAYS cover your ass and NEVER under estimate t
  20. I shoot over a rugby club and there are certain places i can't use my .22lr. This is where i use my AA S410. It might be unregulated but i can't say that's ever been a problem for me, and how often are you going to shoot 60 rabbits in one night?. Plus it's a nice weight if you are carrying it about. If you are bent over creeping alond a hedge, you don't want anything too heavy. It's a good accurate gun, and i have never had any problems with it. The magazines always cycle ok and it's a joy to use.
  21. I have an s410 and a stirrup pump. I have a 4 stage FX pump , can't fault it. A pump means i don't have to mess about traveling to fill a tank. Don't be put off by horror stories about pumps being extremely hard to use.....they ain't. You would have to be as weak as piss to be finding them hard.
  22. I searched for' Hawke rangefinder pro 1000' and found 1 for £160. That was new delivered.
  23. When you first apply you have to show you have authority to shoot. I got a mate of mine, who has 180 acres of farm, to sign for me. This land is to show you have reason to own what ever gun your after. Since getting my .22 lr and 17hmr i have obtained other permissions. Each time i just contacted my FAO, i keep his card in my wallet, and ask to make an appointment for him to view what ever land it is. I also fill out a 'request for additional information' form for every new permission. I keep a copy and i send a copy to the FA Department. The last time i wanted the FAO to come out was to have
