Igot rid of sky when i moved to cornwall because all the cheaper deals were for new customers only. Dont miss it and can certainly think of better things to spend my money on.

Iprobably could earn as much as my mrs but it would mean hardly seeing each other which is what happened when we lived in yorkshire. We moved to cornwall on the basis that she would work full time and i worked when i felt like it. This works fine for us and she has never said a wrong word no matter how many times i go fishing or whatever else i want to do. i do all the housework [including ironing] and make most of the meals , but i do them when it suits me, if i want to go fishing i go without fear of complaint. Ihavent done much work for the last three years , dont have kids at home to look after but i do have my grandkids for two or three days a week. not just for a few hours i have to have them from 6-30 am to 8pm , sometimes sleeping there on a blow up bed because it isnt worth driving the 40 miles home and 40 miles back the morning after. I am knackered when ive had them but i have to admit its the best job ive had. i have more fun with them than i can handle but i must admit when im trapped in the house by the weather it can be hard work keeping them entertained. youll love it it mate but same a

I've spoken to Dytkos and said the same, you can both jump in mine, plenty of room.. Managed an evening on the kayak Sunday, only had 1 mackerel but a decent bass followed to the side of the yak and flashed at the live eel, didn't hook up though.. good fun all the same. Speak soon mate, I should be down a few times over the summer so I'll be in touch. not many mackerel about down here yet. Would be good to get out down here see what we can catch . let me know when you're coming down and i will sort some worms and crabs out. -

Yes that would be great we can sort something out kev. If dytkos is going up i will possibly be picking him up depending on what day he goes up. Not sure how hes fixed on the job front at the moment. Im off up yorkshire for a week tomorrow so taking my coarse gear with me and going to have a couple of days carp bashing with my brother while im up there. will make a change from trying to launch a six ounce lead to the horizon lol. -

Well ive just dug my coarse fishing gear out of the shed, not used it for nearly three years. Im going for my first practise session for the match. i reckon all my pole elastic will be knackered, all the pellets etc. i had have turned into a mushy stinking mess in the bag, mice have chewed up my cool bag and made a lovely cosy nest out of it. Might have to do a bit of repair work and shopping before august. -
Was watching someone lamping up polzeath about two weeks ago. I was fishing at grenaway. He was on the fields near the coastpath.

They should always have a means of isolation. even if thats just a plug and socket. Norseman, the normal halogen type floodlights are ok but can tend to blow lamps regularly, but they are pretty cheap to buy in the first place. led ones are more expensive to buy in the first place but wont cost you much after that [ far cheaper on the electric bill as well ]

Ive been fishing both south and north coast of cornwall. not much happening on the north coast but had plenty of cod and a few other species on the south coast.

we use plugs with a good rattle on them or poppers at night in padstow harbour at night. been some good bass caught doing this. later in the year is best for this. I have caught pollack spinning frozen sandeels at night as well. I think fish can see/sense more than we imagine.

Weve been getting quite a few down on the other coast mainly in the three pound region but seen some fives and sixes caught and a couple of eights. thats shore fishing. Been some decent catches off private boats just outside fowey estuary.

yes you can mate . you dont really get a lot off them but it is nice just pan fried .yes you may get a shock when you fillet it as there bones are really green. looks radioactive lol. first one i filleted i threw it away cause i thought there was something wrong with it

When fishing for mackerel we start by letting the lead hitting the bottom but we count it down so you know how many seconds it takes to hit the bottom. fish it in a few times like this then if you dont get any try it at a shorter count. ie if it takes thirty seconds to hit the bottom try it at a count of 25 or 20 then you are searching the depth as mackerel can be any where in the depth. alternatively if you hit them as your lead is falling through the water you will know how deep they are and be able to target this depth. garfish tend to be in the top third of the water if it is reasonably de

Why would someone who is a vegetarian go into a place like this and think she would be able to survive it. I cant understand her, or the organisers allowing her in. Surely they knew she would stuggle like fook to live as a veggie in these circumstances. I bet there werent many veggies about in the real 10000 bc. Then yesterday shes giving other peoples rations to a stray dog.

My mrs loves it . she would eat it everyday.. I will let you know when they are here in numbers. just hope they are not as late as they were last year, although when they came in there were loads of them .

I use a spinning rod ,2oz bomb fixed onto a 3 way swivel bottom loop with a split ring an 18 inch trace off one end loop and your main line onto the other end loop. Size 1/0 hook. thread a sand eel onto the hook and fix in place with bait elastic around the gills and mouth . You only catch one at a time but its brilliant sport. You also pick up pollock ,garfish and the occasional bass

Really sorry for all his family and friends. as some of you may remember my friends of 38 years died on his way home from a weeks holiday with us about 18 months ago so i understand how youre feeling walshie. It took me a long time to get m,y head round the fact that hed gone. R.I.P. NIGEL
