  1. just received a reel sent by dido.1 in the post ,so a big thank you to him and also thanks to lacko or his donation on the just giving page.
  2. Sat Navs don't have local knowledge for local people Cheers, D. no thats why i gave the directions because satnavs will send them down the lanes and into st merryn crossroads which is known locally as wacky races junction at this time o year. just another bit o directions to people not using sat nav. as you get near exeter and the m5 to a30 exits do not take the irst one which is a30 east. you need to continue about 2 miles to the next one which is a30 west.
  3. its already sorted i have a riend with an ice machine. i have one large poly box and may be able to borrow something else to keep ice in but i anyone has anything suitable it would be appreciated. at the minute i am running about like a loon trying to get everything sorted plus dig 300 lugworms a day and do 300 crab traps a day so i appologise i i dont put everything up that is done. i have cleared all the pegs and made another 5 so that we can all get round the same lake. when people are here we can have a walk round and decide between us which are best to use. hope i have cleared enough o
  4. assumed most people would use a satnav so wouldnt need broader directions [jim excluded lol] .
  5. dont know what time people are thinking o travelling down but the a30 at the moment is a nightmare every weekend due to roadworks at the temple section. dont know i dytkos has posted it elsewhere but it may be worth leaving the a30 onto the a395 and coming that way. all depends what time you hit it as to how bad it will be. when you get down here the easiest route to the lakes is to head in to padstow and just as you approach it you will see a sign saying newquay b3276 then one saying newquay 14. turn here and then just stay on this road 1.6 miles.you will go down a steep hill, at the botto

let him get on with it.
  7. i picked up loads o bacon that dytkos has provided and 20 litres o cider. im going to go and get some pasties next week.we should be able to catch mackerel on saturday i we can ish the sea.
  8. not in cornwall it isnt ,its every tourist who crosses the devon border in the school holidays.
  9. is that by you sitting on it beside the river dove waiting to get a barbel bite arch.
  10. yes walshie the ield is directly across the road. it is maybe ten yards up the road to the gateway rom the car park but you wont be able to see the tents as were hidden behind a hedge. unless youre driving something very low slung you will get into the ield. i would bring a rollmat or mattress as its not exactly bowling green level. can people who have one also bring an unhooking mat to use in the match, thanks.
  11. whilst i agree with you about overpayed men at the top o the council, they are not payed by your council tax. neither are any other council workers. my mrs works or the council , yes she gets a good wage but she worked damn hard to get where she is and works damn hard now. she hasnt had a pay rise or 6 years unlike the councillors who vote themselves one every time and most o them do nothing to earn it. dont know about other rnli areas but cornwall council have a contract with the rnli to provide care on the beaches and pay them to provide this so here in cornwall it is not entirely charity
  12. you can get the car in and out but i dont think there will be room or all the cars. we can park in the ishery car park which is 20 yards away.
  13. cheers dave i will give you a bell later in the week mate. youve only got one key up to press. yes its great jim, thanks very much. im thinking about not putting a hook on jim it was bad enough sorting it out once never mind having to do it again. there is a lot o aggravation going on between the two owners who are brothers but they absolutely detest one another and it has been causing allsorts o problems. arch told me how bad it was last year. i think we should name the cup the poison chalice
  14. not been on a while due to one thing or another so i will start by saying a massive thanks to jim or the banner which arrived on saturday. didnt want to come on with hal a story to tell so been waiting until i knew what was happening. the guy who told me we could camp beside the lake has been told by the owner that we cant because they are not insured so i have spent the last week trying to sort things out. i have sorted a ield straight across the road literally 50 metres away.its not uphill walshie so no escalator reqd. i am going to have to sort a portaloo i think as its a bit o a pain to
  15. rustic walshie. it is a proper bog but i will have to keep topping up the water butt that is the water supply to it. i will get 4 or 6 bags dave that should be enough i think. give me a bell mate when you want to bring anything down
  16. sorry, ive sorted two barbecues walshie. borrowing them, so we are sorted i let kev know so he wasnt messing about but didnt put it up on here. joe, it is only £2.99/ 5kg bag whether we use briquettes or lumpwood so i will sort it mate, how many bags do you reckon we will need.
  17. ok any barbeque experts, what is the best to buy to use at the comp. briquettes or lumpwood charcoal. just been to buy some but didnt want to bring the wrong one. i didnt even know you got a choice
  18. they like sweetcorn as well walshie when you havent got any bread.
  19. i will give you a big cuddle at the comp. johnny.
  20. If dan isnt coming i will try and sort something kev. Leave it with me mate i will let you know what is happening. Dave has the bacon covered i will sort bread and sauces for the butties. I am also going to get some pasties.
  21. Not really most of the time mate but you never know if conditions allow you to get to certain spots. We can always take people on a little adventure down trevose head but as you know its all down to the weather and sea conditions.Im sure we will be able to do something even its a bit of wrasse bashing.
  22. there isnt a problem getting on a boat with any number of people from two to twelve its just different boats and on one that only takes 6 out unless you have the full six you can only keep two fish each. if i can get an idea of how many want to go i will contact the most suitable skipper. Personally though i would love a go on the kayaks but i will sort a trip no problem. Plenty of tope about on the boats at the minute. I can just see jim with one foot in each kayak going for the horizon.
  23. It has been a bit poor out on the boats Kev , in fact it has been poor all round. The mackerel havent even shown up yet.I can set up a trip if there are enough people who would like to go [let me know] but your going to be looking at £60 a man. kayaks would be good or if more people fancy a shore trip i can sort that. I have enough rods but may be short some reels which i should be able to borrow. i have rods and reels and leads and lures etc. for kayaking. If we dont get out on the yaks im sure jim will make use of one on the lakes .
  24. I will make you some leads of varying weights Walshie and give you them at the comp. Kevs tackle wont be shit mate hes the richest man on T.H.L. [or so ive heard]
  25. Right so lets get this straight, is it still ok for me to to cover my knob and balls in gravy and let the dogs lick it off.
