  1. Brilliant Kev, bet fin would have landed it lol. Wire trace or 100lb amnesia trace from now on mate.
  2. Yes I will make one for that boat trip mate. Last week in sept. Has a few good tides for a go with the lures, wind and waves permitting, but doesn't matter when you can get over we will have a go somewhere.
  3. I'll be in Guernsey for 2 weeks on Friday, I'll let you know..!! A couple of trips arranged on a local lads boat fishing for bass and kayaking most days.. Plus trips to sark and herm, I'll definatly have a rod stowed away lol.. Fished Alderney quite a few years back, some cracking sport on turbot on the banks, my brother had the biggest which was 16lb, that's a beast of a flat fish, best I had was around 8lb.. Only a few small bass though.. I'm not jealous at all Kev. Have a good un.

Wonder if Alan Davies would be interested in doing a follow up series called the dog murderers. That may show them up in a more realistic light.
  5. Well done mate, he looks well happy. Its days like that he will remember and will keep him going back for more. I think its the enjoyment we get as kids that keeps us at it as adults.
  6. I agree that a cheap shot happens but at least the rfl do something about it even if its afterwards. The F.A do exactly that, F.A . The Suarez incident is one of many incidents that happen in football but one of the few that they have done anything about.
  7. Yes they have mate . Most of the lads who want to carry on have gone to dearne valley. Shame really it was a good club in its day. Had some brilliant times there, won a few trophies ,but it all went down hill after Steve creek passed away.

    Football Ffs

Bracken boy i understand your love of the game , i have the same love of rugby league. i just feel that you and all the other fans who pay sometimes extortionate prices to facilitate the purchase of overpriced prima donnas are being cheated by the players who do it and more so the authorities who allow it to continue simply by not applying the rules of the game more strictly.
  9. they play for Upton. .In Yorkshire junior league. . is neil mears still playing for the open age. my lads played for crofton and hoyland in the juniors and open age.
  10. you were never as good as me though son :tongue2:

. Do you not think that the football authorities could do a lot more to remove it from the game. Footballers do it and managers allow/encourage it because it wins them games. If a notification was given to all that a penalty was going to be given every time Greco/roman wrestling took place in the area ,a booking every time you harassed the ref, feigning injury was a yellow card etc, etc it would soon reduce when it cost them games instead of winning them IMO.
  12. Played it until I was forced to retire at 46. It is IMO a far better game than football simply because of the antics that footballers get up to. Diving, cheating ,abusing the ref etc. Also loved the physical side of it when I played. No matter what happened on the field you shook hands and clapped each other off the pitch at the end. Who do your lads play for.
  13. Contact nelson off here. Good quality gear.
  14. We dissected frogs and cows eyes in our biology lessons. Lots of squealing and Gipping and not all by the girls.
  15. I played rugby league for a long time and was bitten myself and saw other people get bitten neither myself or anybody else rolled about like a man who'd had his sack ripped off. A grown man can stand being bitten on the shoulder without the dramatics.
  16. don't want to get into an argument about it but do you reckon the Italians actions were a good example to kids. Maybe if they did take action against them when they do this diving and trying to get other players sent off would be eradicated from the game. Not trying to say what Suarez did wasn't serious but it didn't warrant the reaction it produced from the Italian.
  17. Did the Italian get banned for rolling about like a soft twat when somebody bit his shoulder. The way he was rolling about I thought Suarez had bit his ball bag off.
  18. Ling have bones nearly to the end of the fillet so I cut mine into two strips by cutting either side of the bones. This leaves you with two boneless pieces of fish and a little strip with all the bones in it.. I prefer it to cod myself.
  19. Sticking my head inside an elderberry bush looking for nests. Always loved the smell since I was a kid.
  20. Good luck mate. Guernsey is a place I would like to have a go at myself. Might see if the Mrs. fancies paying for a holiday lol. Are you still looking at setting a boat trip up later in the year. Our boys fishing holiday is 6th to 13th sept. if you can fit a day in.
  21. Big hook with a live mackerel on, bass will have it...Early morning or late evening best times, different tides for different places.. But generally they like a bit of tide flow... Late summer best for the big ones normally ( yet to have a real big one though, this year I will lol) Probably was a bass mate....... Or like socks said... A shark I will do my best to point you in the direction of one keV if and when you manage to fit a trip over here into your schedule. Are you having a go in Guernsey.
  22. That's it tomo. I knew somebody used to live in airton lol.My memory ain't what it used to be.He used to run beddy crosses at one bit I think. Or did I make that up as well
