  4. ive put reasons in the link above. no one can predict how a dog will react with live quarry. 4 of mine were great live to hand retrievers 1 was a crunched to hand retiever. all trained with care away from distractions started of on their own. in some cases some dogs are naturally hard mouthed from day 1 to the end. seen it with other dogs besides the one i had.
  5. if she does what you require and you are happy with her you cant ask for more than that.
  6. i can only go by the ones ive seen. my old mate had them 25 /30 years and ive seen quite a few others go.the whippet/beddys made good ferreting mouching dogs never seen 1 lamp size aprox 17 -20ts. whippet/beddy/greys seen them ferret/lamp and catch hunted up daytime hares size approx 21-24. beddy greys seen them ferret/lamp catch hunted up daytime hares size 22-24.not seen 1 work for a good few years now. i like the cross found they had great noses and were determined dogs that really did try to catch.im going to get a pup in next year.not had a lurcher for a few years after having them 20 yea

  15. good to hear. some people are too impatient these days. hope he does you proud in the future.
  16. same as above put in compost bins or build a compost heap. only use it when rotted right down. then you will have what is known as black gold perfect for vegatables etc.

  18. instead of trying to recall him. i always trained pups long stays then practised it off the lead. found it to work in situations like this.assoon as he makes a move i would tell him to stay once its trained into him. then just walk up and put the lead on him giving plenty praise. it has worked for me in the past.also they dont wont to mess sbout with other dogs as they mature,
