  1. If the bitch needs "improving upon" should we be breeding from it? just a thought. Surely trench.... That will Keats be the way until someone breeds the perfect lurcher...... Every generation should in theory be an improvement on the last ..... I agree, the whole thrust of breeding working lurchers should be to improve the "breed". But I have lost count of the number of times I have seen average dogs bred off, just to give them that "something" they are missing. When in truth, the owner should be more honest and source his next pup from elsewhere. It reminds me of the joke where a blo

  4. And no women will be harmed after or during the singing of it Are sheep safe ? there's a difference?!
  5. And no women will be harmed after or during the singing of it. The reason why Rugby crowds get along is the fact that they have few written rules and the battle stays on the pitch. The blokes a feckin' plum
  6. the best mooching dogs are made, not bred. out at as early an age as possible. No lead, no slip. Just out with its owner. At every opportunity. Finding, chasing and learning. Its no surprise that most young lads first dog is often a bloody good moocher. And the same with those of more senior years who have wound back on more obviously high octane pursuits.
  7. is that lurcher in your profile picture called Billy?
  8. Trenchy, them dogs are a fecking disgrace and you want reporting for neglect. Get them out fella an let them do a bit...!! I would do, but they are very slow at licking their pots. And by the time they have finished, its too dark
  9. Aye, them rescue lurchers are all fat feckers and never get a chance to do their job.
  10. yeh, suppose when there wound up they deff will give chase if they think its game. mind you when he was younger he chased a dob, and stopped it by a hedge , the owner went white , I said its ok he only playing lol, which he was ,maybe he was practicing for other stuff Practice makes perfect
  11. Seen the same with fox and solid red cocker spaniels many moons ago. I was picking up with my colliex at the time. Charlie broke out of the covert and I slipped her. Finished it off in short time. SHe was the type of dog that took a while to come down from a tussell, so to speak, and within a few minutes she spotted some red critter busting down a bracken bank. My dogs' off, and at the last second the red cocker barks at her. I have not seen such a confused lurcher in a long time. That keeper, who's dog it was , never lets me forget it. And its 15 years ago!
  12. Ha da BMW 320d, 530d and M635d remapped. made a noticable difference and money well spent. Land rover defender Tdci was great too. took of the speed limiter and it would sit all day at 85 doing 30+ mpg. in Germany obviously! Got the Disco 4 booked in soon. Worth doing but pick a reputable company and dont get greedy on power or mpg.
  13. how do you get a 1/3 bull greyhound?
  14. that looks very useful. I've one similar and for the first time in 5 years on rough ground he is laid up. I feel like I've lost a limb.I am used to my others being laid up because of their committed style but this lad seems to be bomb proof ....I have seen him bounce of stuff at full pelt and run of some rough ground but does not seem to break like my others Mine have always been like that, And I thought he was bombproof too, but after a couple of hard days on the moors and forestry he was screaming in his box the next morning. I've never heard a whimper in 5 years

  16. I have found that adding terrier/lurcher to a collie lurcher almost always makes them a far easier animal to work and live with. Better? well its down to the individual dog, and its owner
